🙏 SUNDAY BLESSINGS 🙏

Today is the Twenty-Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time, and the readings bring us to something that can be incredibly difficult: forgiveness.

In today’s Gospel, Peter asks Jesus how many times he must forgive someone who sins against him. Jesus’ answer makes it clear that forgiveness isn’t something we can neatly count or put a limit on.

That message hits differently when the hurt is deep.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending something didn’t happen. It doesn’t mean that what someone did was acceptable, and it doesn’t always mean restoring a relationship to what it once was.

Sometimes forgiveness is simply choosing not to let anger and resentment have the final word in our hearts.

Today’s Psalm reminds us of the example God gives us: He is kind, merciful, patient and rich in compassion.

As I head into a new week, my prayer is to carry a little more of that mercy with me—to extend grace when I can, to release what I cannot change, and to trust God with the things that are too heavy for me to carry.

May we remember that we belong to Him, and may that truth guide the way we love, forgive, and move forward. 🤍

🌾🐓 FARM FRIDAY 🐓🌾

Another week on the homestead, and you can definitely feel the seasons beginning to shift.

The first full week of school for the older kids is officially in the books! Meanwhile, the babies have been keeping us plenty busy during the day. 🤎

Outside, the nights are noticeably cooler, the days are getting shorter, and we’re starting to see those first leaves changing. 🍂 Fall is quietly making its way to the farm.

And, of course, the animals don’t care what season it is—farm life keeps moving!

🦃 The Thanksgiving turkeys are growing and doing well.

🐓 The second half of our summer batch of meat chickens heads to the processor tomorrow, which means another freezer restock is coming.

🐥 And our final batch of meat chickens for the year is already in the brooders, growing for their November processing.

There’s something about this time of year that I love. We’re still wrapping up the work of summer while preparing for everything fall will bring.

Busy days, cooler nights, changing leaves, kids, babies, chickens and turkeys… just another week of life here at McManus Homestead. 🤎🌾
