Opinions of sports clinical practice chiropractors, with sports specialty training and those without, about chiropractic research priorities in sports health care: a centering resonance analysis

I get asked a lot what the difference between Chiropractic and Sport Chiropractic is. My first response is that all chiropractors want to optimize your health. However, how they optimize your health is the difference between the two groups. Chiropractors focus on chiropractic adjustments to allow body's innate inelegance to heal itself, where as sport chiropractors utilize manual therapy, passive modalities, and rehabilitation in addition to adjustment. A recent article from the Journal of Canadian Chiropractic Association concluded that non-sports chiropractors focus on the role of chiropractic in sports injuries whereas specialized sport chiropractors consider the effect of adjustment, soft tissue, and rehabilitation on treating sports injuries, injury prevention, and sports performance.

Over the past few months, I have seen a lot more lower back cases, whether the injury is caused from weight lifting, gardening, or simply repetitive movement, please take few minutes to this article. The number cause of an injury is previous injury. Whether you have spinal or extremity pain, maintaining and preventing the recurrence is crucial. By maintaining, it could be as simple as doing your corrective exercises, nutrition, proper mechanics, and/or scheduling an appointment to be assessed. The goal of chiropractic care is to prevent injuries and provide maintenance care.

I can NOT emphasize enough the importance of core and the danger of crunches and sit-ups. Only because you have six packs, does NOT mean you have a strong core!!!! If you are a patient of mine or been to one of my seminar, you understand why. Would like to know the difference? Please ask me.
More and more people come in with lower back pain and we discover that they have been doing more sit-ups or crunch. Do yourself a favor and read this article.
FYI- the Canadian Armed Forces have dropped sit-ups and crunches from their requirements/training and adopted core stiffness.
