Thanks to Makerspace member Antonio, who led a hands-on woodworking workshop! Participants learned the basics while creating their own beautiful cherry wood cookbook stands.

We had a fantastic time at our Fashion Design Workshop series at The Big Idea Makerspace at San Juan College! Huge thank you to our incredible instructor JG Indie for sharing his expertise and creativity. Participants explored the Makerspace tools while creating their own custom fabric.

This June, The Big Idea Makerspace at San Juan College is excited to welcome internationally recognized Diné fashion designer Jolonzo Goldtooth, founder of JG Indie, for a three-evening Fashion Design Workshop Series.

Participants will explore draping, textile design, creative processes, and the tools that help transform ideas into wearable creations.

Whether you're interested in fashion, textiles, wearable art, sewing, surface design, or simply exploring a new creative outlet, this is a unique opportunity to learn from a designer whose work has been showcased on runways and stages around the world.

Check out the feat of clay artists' co-op gallery open house next Friday, May 29! It will feature art made by Makerspace member Elisa Bird who transforms steel into stunning designs using the plasma table.
