More stretching.
More workouts.
More pushing through.
More trying to “fix” what hurts.

We’ve been taught that when our body feels sore or uncomfortable, we need to do something about it.

But sometimes the most helpful thing we can give our body is the opposite. 🙌

Less.

Less stimulation.
Less tension.
Less demand.

Sometimes your nervous system needs a chance to settle. Your muscles need a chance to stop bracing. Your mind needs an hour where it doesn’t have to be responsible for anything. 🥳

That’s one of the things I love about massage.

It doesn’t always have to be about fixing, correcting, or working something out.

Sometimes it’s simply about creating space for your body to exhale.

You don’t always need to push harder. ✨

Sometimes you just need to stop for a while. 🤍

Maybe your body has been asking for a break.
Maybe it’s time to listen. 🙏

Your massage shouldn’t look exactly like everyone else’s.

There’s no magic routine that works perfectly for every body.

One person may need relaxation-focused massage.

Another may benefit from focused work on specific areas of tension.

That’s why individualized treatment matters.

Your massage should take into account:
✨ What you’re feeling today
✨ Your activity level and lifestyle
✨ Areas of tension or discomfort
✨ How your body responds to pressure
✨ Your goals for the session
✨ What your therapist observes during the treatment

It’s about listening, adapting, and treating the person not just following a protocol.

This is why I customize 100% of my sessions to my clients’ needs. 💕

Because your body isn’t one-size-fits-all.

The answer depends on your body, lifestyle, wellness goals, and of course, your budget!

✨ Every 3 - 4 weeks: A great option for regular maintenance and relaxation.
🏃‍♀️ Every 1 - 2 weeks: May be beneficial if you’re active, experience frequent tension, or have a particularly demanding routine.
😌 As your budget allows: Even an occasional massage can be a meaningful way to prioritize relaxation and self-care.

The most important thing is finding a routine that feels beneficial, realistic, and sustainable for you.

You don’t have to book every week to take care of yourself. Consistency within your means is what matters. 🤍

Your body works hard for you. Give it the care you can, and make it count.

How much should you undress for a massage…?

Here’s the controversial answer: as much - or as little - as YOU want.

You don’t have to be completely undressed to receive a great massage. You can keep your underwear on, leave clothing on certain areas, or undress further if you feel comfortable doing so.

And no, a therapist should never make you feel pressured, embarrassed, or uncomfortable about your choice.

Professional massage is about trust, communication, consent, and comfort - not how much clothing you remove.

Your body. Your boundaries. Your choice. Period. 🤍

Massage therapy is often much more beneficial as part of a consistent, preventative routine than as a last-minute rescue mission.

Especially because…

1. An acute injury doesn’t always call for massage. ✅

If something just happened, there may be inflammation, tissue damage, or another issue that needs to be assessed before massage is appropriate. Sometimes the best thing we can do is not massage it.

2. Consistent massage is about more than chasing pain. ✅

Regular bodywork gives me the opportunity to work with your body before you reach the “my neck is killing me” stage. It can help you stay connected to how your body feels, address areas of tension before they become bigger problems, and make massage part of your overall self-care rather than an emergency response.

This is one of the reasons I created my membership program.

I want to help my clients make bodywork a regular part of their routine — not something they only think about when something hurts.

Because ideally, I want to see you feeling good and maintaining your body, not waiting until you’re desperate for an appointment. ❤️

Your body deserves care before it starts screaming for it.

Deep tissue massage doesn’t actually “break up knots.”

I know that’s probably not what you were told 😬

I hear all the time that a massage therapist needs to “dig out” a knot, “break up adhesions,” or physically smash tight tissue back into place.

But your muscles aren’t pieces of clay.

That intense pressure you feel during deep tissue massage isn’t literally breaking a knot apart. What’s more likely happening is a combination of changes in your nervous system, pain sensitivity, muscle tone, and your perception of tension. ✨

That’s why you can walk out of a massage feeling looser and moving more comfortably without anything having been physically “broken up.”

Also, more pressure does not automatically mean a better massage. 😯

If your body is guarding, bracing, or telling you that the pressure is too much, pushing harder isn’t necessarily getting deeper. Sometimes the most effective work is the pressure your nervous system can actually tolerate and respond to.

Deep tissue massage can absolutely be therapeutic. 💪

It just doesn’t need the “breaking things apart” story to explain why it can feel so good.

Your body isn’t a knot that needs to be beaten into submission.

It’s a living, adaptable system that responds to touch. 🙌

We’re so good at taking care of everyone else.

We show up for our families.
We take care of our kids.
We help our friends.
We work, we provide, we keep things moving.

And somewhere along the way, we put ourselves at the bottom of the list.

We tell ourselves, “I’ll take care of me when things slow down.”

But when does life actually slow down?

Your body deserves care before it reaches the point of begging for it.

Massage isn’t just something you squeeze in when your neck hurts, your back is tight, or you’re completely exhausted.

It can be an investment in yourself.

An hour to stop.
An hour to breathe.
An hour where you don’t have to be the one taking care of everyone else.

Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s recognizing that you are worth taking care of, too.

You invest your time, energy, and money into so many things that matter to you.

Don’t forget to invest some of it in you. 🤍

Your body has been showing up for you every single day.

Maybe it’s time you showed up for it.
