Update on Hunter by Marianne

Photos from Serenade Shetland SheepDogs's post 06/12/2026

We kindly request that Hunter be included in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏🏼
Hunter is scheduled to undergo surgery early in the morning to repair a perineal hernia. Following a recent procedure last week, this emergency operation has been deemed necessary. Over the past ten weeks, Hunter has faced numerous health issues, including severely overgrown nails, a matted coat, double ear infections, and a severe skin infection, in addition to a herniated disc, bone-on-bone hip problems, and an emaciated state, which had left him barely able to walk. Fortunately, Hunter is now in excellent care.

We are grateful for the dedication and love shown by Marianne in caring for Hunter. ❤️ Gratitude is expressed for her tireless efforts. 🫶

This unfortunate situation could have been prevented with proper care.

PLEASE READ:
As I embark on a new chapter, carefully reuniting my cherished canine companions with their forever families, I invite you to consider the joy of welcoming a loving adult dog into your life. This intentional decision celebrates the next chapter in their lives, filled with love, care, and tailored attention.

Rest assured, the process will unfold thoughtfully, prioritizing the perfect match. If your heart is ready to open up to an adult dog, aged 2-6 years, I encourage you to share your loving environment and lifestyle with me. Together, let's discover the perfect harmony.

Occasionally, questions arise regarding the compassionate choice of rehoming retired dogs. For those unfamiliar with responsible breeding practices, this decision may raise concerns.

However, I'd like to share a different perspective. The happiness and well-being of my retired dogs, now thriving in their new homes, bring me immense joy. In their new families, they're not only loved but truly spoiled, receiving undivided attention as cherished companions.

This new chapter isn't about better or worse; it's about embracing a fresh journey, tailored to their needs and happiness. As someone who forms lasting bonds with these loving creatures, it's true that letting go is difficult. Yet, knowing they're surrounded by love and care in their new homes fills my heart with peace.

Quality breeders prioritize the welfare of their dogs, making selfless decisions that put the dogs' needs above all else.

Please be assured that their circumstances do not result from being unloved, free, or in need of rescue. My aim is to present them and another family with an opportunity. Rest assured, the process is unhurried and will only proceed when the right home is found.

There will be an extensive phone interview . We do this before we make any decisions of where we place one of these precious fur babies. We just don't take this decision very lightly, and only accept the best possible furever homes for our Fur Babies! We greatly appreciate if you reaching out about one of our furbabies.
❤️🐾

Sincerely, Serenade

Forming a lasting bond with a Shetland Sheepdog involves sharing years filled with trust, loyalty, and unconditional love that grows stronger with each passing day. They become an integral part of your daily routines, and your home feels empty without their presence. A Sheltie remains steadfastly by your side through life's joys and challenges, providing comfort in sorrow and joy in triumph. Their gentle nature and loyal heart create a deep and abiding connection. As they mature alongside you, every memory becomes increasingly precious. They are not just pets; they become beloved family members, dear friends, and constant companions. The love of a Shetland Sheepdog is a truly precious experience in life.

Before going out for a hike, most people put on bug spray to repel insects and AVOID being bitten in the first place. So why don’t we do the same for our dogs and cats?

These chemicals do NOT REPEL! They do NOT PREVENT your animal from being bitten.

Honestly, I find the natural products work better and I don't have to worry about potential severe adverse reactions.

With hopeful hearts, individuals wait behind metaphorical walls of fear or social isolation, observing people pass by and hoping someone will stop. Each fleeting moment feels like a potential opportunity. Hope remains alive in their loving eyes. They don't require much; being selected is enough. When this moment arrives, everything changes for the better. Fear and anxiety give way to eagerness, and loneliness disappears. A new beginning starts with one simple decision, and suddenly, they're no longer waiting but finally settled.

Librela & Solensia
Many pet parents are being told these injections are safe and routine — but there’s more to the story.

Before you agree to Librela or Solensia, it’s important to understand the potential risks and reported side effects. These medications may help with pain, but they are not without consequences.

We’re seeing increasing reports of:

Mobility issues

Neurological changes

Pancreatitis

Behavioral shifts

And in some cases, serious decline

Every pet is different. Every decision matters.Take a few minutes to educate yourself so you can make the most informed choice for your dog or cat.
