Let this be your reminder that talking about su***de does not increase the risk of su***de. In fact, it’s frequently the opposite. Being comfortable with acknowledging and talking about su***de has been shown to improve overall mental health outcomes and reduce the risk for suicidal ideation.

We are excited to welcome two counseling interns from Liberty University to our team at Horse & Soul Counseling!

In the counseling field, interns are graduate-level clinicians completing advanced clinical training as part of their Master’s degree program. During this stage, interns begin working directly with you while developing hands-on experience in assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic skills, ethics, and professional growth.

A clinical supervisor’s role is to guide, support, and oversee the intern throughout the entire process to help ensure quality care and development as a clinician.

Throughout each session, Tara Higgins, MA, LPC will be actively monitoring, supervising, and supporting the therapeutic process while remaining involved in each client and family’s healing journey.

We are honored to continue creating opportunities for growth, healing, and learning within our practice and community.
