Friends and clients, it's been a while since I've posted—time for an update!

I'm no longer providing services at MnoYé Spa. I'm sad things didn't work out there, as it truly is one of the nicest spas in the region. I look forward to visiting as a guest next time and continuing to work with my Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish relatives in other ways in the future.

The silver lining? This change in schedule allowed me to work this season's sugarbush, which ended up extending into April this year! I had a great couple of weekends in the woods with family and friends and boiled just over 500 gallons of sap for almost 11 gallons of syrup. It was exactly the reset I needed.

This availability change has also opened up more opportunities for house calls, event bookings, and I've even picked up some animal ER shifts (yes, back to my veterinary roots!). I've had hospice, spa, and other offers come up as well, and I look forward to sharing what new opportunity awaits.

What a great week of new clients and repeat visits! Enjoyed my time at the GLT Diabetes Clinic working with their patients, was able to work in a last-minute request at the Grand Rapids office for a new client with back pains who left feeling great, when I was there I met the new esthetician and another massage therapist also joining the .center, and ended the week with clients enjoying their spa day.

After a continuous 20-weekend run, I'm taking advantage of having some time off. Friends and I have run a sugarbush camp for just over 20 years, where at this time of year, weekends are spent in the woods. So I'm excited to have a weekend to head into the sugarbush for some self-rejuvenation of my own.

I'll be back Monday and ready to help you with your aches, pains, or own needs for some relaxation and rejuvenation!

Excited to work for Gun Lake Tribe again today, but this time on the other side of the street within their Health and Human Services! Providing foot care for their clients and helping them find ways to feel better from the ground up!

Also looking forward to joining GLT for their sugarbush tapping event. I've been so busy this year I've not been able to make it to our own sugarbush, so this will be a nice way to welcome and honor the sugarbush season in a good way.

Three of four days at done and what great experiences people are having! Had a guest whose long travels resulted in back pain and was happy to find we had a saltwater whirlpool to soak in before and after their massage, had several happy couples, and another prenatal🤰enjoying the luxuries of the spa :-)

Two years ago, I made my career switch from veterinary medicine to massage therapy!

While I still get occasional shifts at BluePearl to work with my furry four-legged friends, I do miss my veterinary life. From guiding families through the puppy and kitten phase, to caring for senior pets, to the pace and adrenaline of ER work—I truly loved my first career.

But I wanted to be in a field where I could still provide wellness care while having more growth opportunities to support my family. I also wanted to be the practitioner, not the assistant. I love where these changes have landed me, and once again I get to work in incredible environments with other care providers who are passionate about the care they provide.

**Some notable differences in my day-to-day:**
✅ Patients can verbalize their discomfort and how it developed
✅ Only one species to study
✅ No mysterious bags left at the front door
✅ Significantly fewer bite risks
✅ Zero scent gland abscesses
✅ Much less face-melting halitosis exposure (thank you, fresh breath clients!)
✅ Much less hair... most of the time 😉

The bottom line? I went from "What did he eat?" to "Where does it hurt?" And honestly? I'm loving it.

Whether you’re a newer client or have been with us for many years, you’ve likely met and gotten to know our long-time practice manager, Ben. Ben has been with Northland AH since Dr. Banks bought the practice back in 2001 and is a beloved member of the Northland family. We are sad to announce that he will be leaving Northland as of February 29, 2024 to explore other opportunities outside of veterinary medicine. He will be sorely missed, but we look forward to seeing what he does next and wish him the best!

Another great weekend at MnoYé!
Friday was a full day of friends who came in for a Galentine's Day at the spa and Saturday was spent helping all the couples relax before their date night ♥️
Ended the weekend facilitating post bachelorette party recovery and a new repeat client who was eager to come back after their first visit provided so much relief 😊
Now to wrap up the day at one of my new Celiac friendly (some items) spots, Lucky Dragon Noodle Bar!

Another great 4-day run at MnoYé Spa. Several clients stayed the weekend after having a great time at Hunks The Show and expressed how much fun they had. Many had great things to say about Gun Lake Casino Resort hospitality as well.
