There’s something about this time of year that makes me stop and think about how much has changed.

Pre ABco, I was still trying to figure out how to find my way through Great Falls after losing my grandma. I felt pretty lost and honestly, pretty alone.
And then there was Ancestral Botanicals.

Somewhere along the way, this business brought people into my life that I never expected to meet. You started as customers, market conversations, people stopping by my table, or someone who just happened to find my business.

And so many of you became my people.

You’ve supported me, encouraged me, shared my products with your friends, checked in on me, and made me feel connected to this community again.

I knew I wanted Ancestral Botanicals to be about people. I just didn’t realize how much the people would end up meaning to me.

I can honestly say that I’ve fallen back in love with Great Falls in a way I didn’t know I needed to.

So as we head into the holiday season, I’m feeling especially grateful for all of you.
I’m getting ready for holiday markets, gift giving, new things, and a whole lot of making behind the scenes. I’ll be sharing market dates, special releases, holiday offerings, and all the fun stuff as we get closer.

So keep an eye out.

And thank you for being my people. I love you guys more than you probably realize, and I’m really looking forward to spending another holiday season with you.

I have to share this one! I picked up Whispering Meadow Face and Beard Oil from Ancestral Botanicals Co. for my son, who was starting to get a little acne, and it completely cleared it up. Seriously, I was not expecting that kind of result.

First, I'm always humbled by herbalists who know more than I do about things. I can tell you everything tallow is good for internally, but Alexis is the master of what oils do on the skin. Topical herbalism is her craft and she is so good at it. Big shout out to her!

Here's what's in it: jojoba oil, avocado oil, cold pressed hexane free castor oil, sweet almond oil, yarrow leaf, calendula flower, and comfrey leaf. Such a thoughtful blend. The oils are nourishing and balancing, and yarrow, calendula, and comfrey are classic skin allies that herbalists have loved for generations.
He's got a few little blackheads left, but he'll survive. 😄

When I started Ancestral Botanicals, I knew I wanted to create something I genuinely felt good about using and sharing.

I wanted to learn, experiment, create with my hands, and make things that were simple, thoughtful, and useful.

What I didn’t expect was everything that would come with it.

I didn’t expect the people I’d meet. The conversations I’d have. The friendships that would come from a little jar of tallow balm or a bottle of herbal oil.

I didn’t expect to have people tell me about the products they’ve fallen in love with, come back for something they ran out of, bring a friend along because they thought they’d love it too, or even become friends along the way.

I didn’t expect Ancestral Botanicals to become something that connected me to so many wonderful people in my community.

And I certainly didn’t expect to love this part of it as much as I do.

I’m still figuring out exactly what Ancestral Botanicals is becoming. But I know I’m incredibly grateful for the people who have been part of it along the way.

This little business is so much more than the things I make.

It’s the people I get to make them for.

Thank you for being here, for supporting me, and for being part of my business in whatever way you have. It truly means more to me than you probably realize.

Oh my goodness… CAN YOU EVEN BELIEVE THESE PHOTOS?!

I got an album of the most wonderful photos from this summer from my dear friend, Holland, and I don’t even know how to put into words what she does.

Holland is the photographer you see capturing the Great Falls Farmers Market, grand events, artistry sessions, families, individuals, and the little pieces of life you wish you could bottle up forever.

But here’s what makes Holland so special…

She doesn’t just capture a moment. She captures THE moment.

She SEES YOU through her camera.

You can look at one of her photos and feel the person, the relationship, the laughter, the love, the season of life. She makes ordinary life feel larger than life while still feeling completely genuine.

There is SO much time, thought, artistry, photographing, selecting, and editing behind every gallery. Her editing is refined and completely intentional, and she does not use AI. She pours so much time and love into every photo because she truly loves creating art with you and your family.

Then the gallery arrives and you’re thinking, “How did she even see all of this?!”

That’s Holland.

And if her photography wasn’t enough, she makes earrings, is an incredible baker and treat maker, has the sweetest family, and has a heart of gold.

Her girls spoil me with their love, and I can always depend on Holland—for a late-night conversation, a laugh, encouragement, or simply knowing she’s there.

She quietly serves and loves on so many people. It never surprises me when I see another post about Holland showing up for someone.

Generous. Kind. Creative. Thoughtful. Genuine to the core.

I couldn’t feel luckier to call her my friend.

So if you don’t already know Holland, PLEASE go get to know her. Follow her, watch for when she opens her books, and if you’ve ever thought about having photos taken, BOOK HER when that window appears because this gal is BUSY!

I’ll be sharing more of her work as fall rolls through because she gave me so many photos I absolutely adore.

Also, I believe I'll be rewarded a permanent spot next year since I've attended a successful 83% of the market. I've only missed 2 this year, which I'm amazed at since I loathe rushed mornings. I've definitely found my groove with my SWEET Jace and LOVE seeing you, so don't you worry about my sour attitude towards mornings. Y'all are worth it EVERY SATURDAY!
