So excited for IG Live next Tuesday 10/6 at 12PM pacific with Jessica H. Maurer as we discuss her new book, The Happiness Handbook: a Guide to Designing Joy 🎉

More about the author:
Jessica H. Maurer writes and speaks about happiness as something you can build out of what is already around you. She spent two decades in the fitness industry first, which is where she learned to be very good at the wrong things. She lives with her husband, teenage son, and one cat who identifies as a dog. You can find her roller-skating around her neighborhood, leading music bingo, practicing her grandma hobbies, and talking to her plants.

More info about her amazing book:
At thirty-seven, Jessica H. Maurer was a wellness professional facing systemic organ damage. She had spent her career teaching others how to take care of themselves, and suddenly she could not walk to her mailbox. Every book she reached for asked her to overhaul something. Willpower and motivation are the first two things to leave when you are depleted, so the advice arrived asking for exactly what she no longer had. Those are boulders. She started picking up pebbles instead. She took her coffee outside, bought a clearance-rack plant and gave it a name, built a playlist that changed her energy, and called the people she had been too busy to call. Every one of those was a single decision she could make on her worst day, ordinary and backed by research.

Happiness is not waiting at the finish line, and you do not have to earn it. It is a set of conditions you create, one ordinary day at a time. This handbook walks you through each input and then hands you the pen. You will rate songs and shows, clear one surface, list what you loved doing at ten years old, and sketch an ordinary Tuesday you would want to live. Part science, part permission slip, and part guided journal, this is a handbook you build, and one that builds you back.

Happy October 🍂

There’s something about fall that always feels like an invitation to shift; our routines, our food, our energy, and maybe even our perspective.

A few things I’m leaning into this season:

🍁 Step outside, take off your shoes, and put your feet on the earth.

☀️ Close your eyes, turn your face toward the sun, breathe, and get quiet enough to listen. Sometimes when we stop trying to figure everything out, a higher consciousness can reveal the next right step.

🥣 Shift your nutrition with the season. Think warming soups, roasted root vegetables, squash, and foods that feel grounding and nourishing.

🎃 And yes, pumpkin spice. I add it to my morning smoothie with espresso, banana, creatine, and protein. Super delish.

I’m a hippie entrepreneur. I believe in science AND intuition. Strength training AND meditation. Creatine AND consciousness.

These worlds don’t have to compete. They can live beautifully together.

Here’s to a new season, a little more grounding, and listening for the next right step. 🍂

Autumn vibes- Hawaii style 🍁🍃🍁🍃
Not everything powerful needs to be loud.

There’s strength in rising quietly.
Perspective in seeing things differently.
Wisdom in slowing down enough to truly listen.
And beauty in trusting the season you’re in.

This autumn, choose less noise. More presence.
Less proving. More listening.
Less rushing. More becoming.

🍂 What is this season asking you to slow down and hear?

Tell me in the comments, and save this for the days you need the reminder.

Testosterone isn’t just a men’s hormone. 💪

Women need it too, for libido, energy, mood, motivation, and muscle. Levels drop gradually with age, and by midlife many of us are running low.

Signs it may be low:
• Little to no libido
• Fatigue sleep doesn’t fix
• Losing your drive
• Struggling to build muscle
• Brain fog
• Flat mood

These overlap with thyroid, iron, and sleep issues, so get checked by a provider who knows women’s hormones. I’ve been sending women to Midi Health. Link is in the Flowcode in my bio. 🧡

Big step for women’s health. Dr. Suzanne Silverman Fenske spoke before Congress about perimenopause and menopause. Proud to see this conversation move forward. Share this if you believe women’s health needs more attention.

My sunshine. My firstborn. My Cruzy.

18 years ago today, you made us parents. You changed our lives forever and filled them with more love and laughter than we could have imagined.

You are extremely intelligent, kindhearted, an incredible athlete, and such an amazing young man. Watching you grow into who you are has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I couldn’t be more proud of you.

No matter how old you get, you will always be my first baby, my sunshine, and my boy.

Happy 18th birthday, mijo. I love you more than you will ever know. ❤️

I went back to school because women deserved better answers.

When I entered perimenopause, I realized how much we didn’t talk about…and how much women were expected to simply push through.

So I went back to school.

I earned my doctorate researching yoga + menopausal education and how education and movement can help women navigate the menopausal transition.

Now, I’m bringing that work to Glo.

I’m incredibly excited to partner with Glo to make evidence-informed perimenopause education accessible to more women, because understanding what is happening in the body can change how we experience this entire chapter.

We’re talking about the things women are actually asking about:

Sleep. Hormones. Strength. Stress. Brain Fog. Self-compassion.

Not fear.
Not shame.
Not “just live with it.”

Education. Movement. And practical tools.

This is about helping women feel informed, capable, and strong from the inside out. Check it out and please share with friends who can benefit from this info.🤍
