A groundbreaking discovery in brain health has revealed that facial lymphatic vessels play a crucial role in draining toxins from the brain. When massaged, these vessels help clear out waste, which is vital for the prevention of neurological diseases like Alzheimer's. Scientists are excited about the possibility of using this technique as a non-invasive treatment for brain health.

By targeting these facial lymphatic pathways, researchers believe they could slow down the progression of diseases that impact memory and cognition. Early intervention with this method may provide an effective and natural way to protect against diseases that lead to dementia.

This discovery also emphasizes the importance of regular facial massages, not just for relaxation, but for overall brain wellness. It’s a promising avenue for future treatments and something that could change the way we approach neurodegenerative diseases. 💆‍♂️🧠

New research suggests that gentle massage of the face and neck could significantly enhance the brain’s natural waste-clearing process.

This may offer a promising avenue for tackling neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s.

Scientists discovered a network of lymphatic vessels just beneath the skin in mice and monkeys that can be stimulated to accelerate the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)—the fluid responsible for flushing out cellular waste, including toxic proteins linked to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

Using a simple massage device, increased CSF flow in mice by nearly threefold, even reversing age-related declines in older subjects. While more studies are needed to confirm the effects in humans, preliminary findings from human cadavers suggest similar lymphatic pathways exist beneath our skin.

The team plans to test this approach further in Alzheimer’s-prone mice. If validated, this non-invasive technique could one day be part of a novel, drug-free strategy to support brain health as we age.

Spa music gets old. I doubt most clients connect with some of my favorites, such as Wardruna. What are your favorite songs to unwind to? I have a Freedom song list on Spotify, that can pump me up or ground me after a long day. Drop a link or a name, what music do you desire to hear while getting bodywork, getting pumped up, or to unwind?

Can a Common Artificial Sweetener Fuel Anxiety? 02/01/2023

Sweet poison! Fake foods cause many side effects. I get migraines from fake sweeteners. Migraine headaches are something that bodywork therapists are often working on, for clients. Knowing triggers can prevent the migraines in the first place.

Can a Common Artificial Sweetener Fuel Anxiety? An artificial sweetener commonly found in diet drinks and food is associated with an increased risk for anxiety-like behavior, early research suggests.
