After 4 years and thousands of bonnets sold, we regret to announce the Sumo Bonnets will close ‪on April 15.‬

We have so appreciated your business and your support. When we started this business, we knew that there was a market for well-made, beautiful sleep and shower bonnets that performed as fabulously as they looked. We wanted to show that people cared about where their products were made, and the conditions they were made under. We felt that lovingly handcrafted in the US would win out over 'Made in China', and for all these reasons we were right...really tough
.
However, the economics to keep this business and up and running, particularly in our current environment are incredibly tough, and thus we made the tough position that now was time to exit the market.

Again, we wouldn't have made it this far without you, and your support, and for that we're so grateful- thank you.

Winter is definitely here! If you haven’t changed your hair care routine yet, consider these changes below:

❌ Stay away from harsh fabrics: During the winter we wear a lot of wool or other thick fabrics on our head that can dry our hair out. Opt for wearing a hat with silk or satin lining like satin beanies!
.
.
✅ Use a humidifier: In the winter, the air is drier which can leave our tresses dry as well. Use a humidifier at night to draw moisture to the air. Humidifiers are also great for the skin as well!
.
.
✅ Drink More Water: Just because you aren’t sweating as much as you do during the warmer months, it doesn’t mean you should cut back on your water intake! Remember, water leads to hydration and growth!
.
.
✅ Wash Less: Use conditioner more, shampoo less. Shampoos with sulfates and harsh surfactants can strip curls and coils of their natural moisture. Use shampoo every other time you wash which will help keep your curls hydrated.
.
.
✅ Use Silk or Satin: This is a no brainer!! But let’s take an extra look.... think of all the times you come home to bury yourself under thick blankets or pillows. Instead, lay your head down on a silk or satin pillowcase. Or better yet, cover your hair in a satin bonnet like the many ones we sell at sumobonnets.com!
