Since 1963, Leon’s has been a trusted name in Greensboro, helping generations of students turn their passion for beauty into a career. Founded by the late Leon Oldham, Leon’s roots began with a six-chair beauty salon on Tate Street in 1945, and the school originally opened as Maison de Paris College before becoming the Leon’s Beauty School we know today.

For over 60 years, Leon’s has carried a legacy of education, excellence, and opportunity. Mrs. Leon Oldham served as President and Director until 1994, followed by her daughter Parker Washburn, who continued the family legacy for 30 years. That kind of history matters — because when you choose Leon’s, you are stepping into something bigger than a classroom. You are stepping into a legacy.

✨ Stepping Outside My Comfort Zone & Growing ✨

What an incredible experience it was to visit and speak with the students at Doris Henderson Newcomers School about the opportunities available at Leon’s Beauty School!

Anyone who knows me knows I love to talk, but speaking in front of a classroom is a completely different challenge. This opportunity pushed me outside of my comfort zone and allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was being able to speak one-on-one with students, answer their questions, hear about their goals, and share the many possibilities that a career in the beauty industry can offer. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and excitement for the future were truly inspiring.

I am so grateful to Leon’s for believing in me, giving me opportunities to spread my wings, and helping me grow into the educator I aspire to be. Thank you to the staff and students for making us feel so welcome. It was a wonderful experience that I won’t soon forget!
