Spent the day in Waikoloa yesterday, it was too windy to eact our lunch on the beach we decided to tailgate for lunch While walking to the car we stopped along the path to pick such vibrant colored bougainvillea ... Life of a lei waver, She had needle and h**p string in the car!

Special delivery! And when someone shares with me the symbolic meaning as to why they request the beautiful bud flower such as the Hawaiian green rose, the loke lau.... I do my best in granting them their request. It was hard for me to find bc my initial contact no longer has her farm๐ so I went hunting and found potted plants only so I bought all I could get my hands on just to trim the few blooms on each plant to incorporate into this haku๐ฑ

I have been sooo obsessed with Pitaya/dragon fruit lately. Super fascinated in their life cycle. Along my weekend journey down in Napo`oPo`o- Kealakekua Bay...I discovered these stunning lil things! Hylocereus Undatis flower buds galore! The flowers are sometimes called Queen of the Night for their nocturnal bloom, or Moonflower. Fruits of Hylocereus contain high amounts of vitamin C, potassium, minerals and fiber, though it is not clear that these nutritional benefits are present in the same amounts in the flower bud. Flower bud initiation is tied into the moon cycle with the majority of flower bud initiation occurring around the new and full moons. Super fitting to during the Autumnal equinox full moon phase in Aries๐ ๐ ๐
