Cold process soap is resistant to spoilage because the soap-making process creates an environment where most bacteria, mold, and yeast cannot survive.

Why goat milk, yogurt, and fruits don’t usually spoil in soap?

1. High pH
* Finished cold process soap typically has high pH .
* Most microorganisms that cause food spoilage cannot grow in such an alkaline environment.

2. Saponification(the chemical reaction is complete and produced the brand new product called Soap)

* During soap making, lye reacts with oils and transforms them into soap and glycerin.
* The alkaline environment during saponification destroys most microorganisms that may have been present in the milk, yogurt, or fruits and other raw ingredients

3. Very Low Available Water

* Although soap contains water initially, much of it evaporates during the curing process.
* Microbes need free water to grow, and cured soap has very little available moisture, so microbes won’t survive

4. Ingredients Are Trapped in the Soap

* Fruit purees, goat milk, and yogurt become dispersed throughout the soap structure rather than remaining as fresh food.
* They are no longer in a form that readily supports microbial growth.

That explains why, you can add all this amazing ingredients and get all these good benefits to skin without worrying that your soap will go bad .

Cold process soap making is beautifully simple— and can be done with just three core ingredients:

oils, water, and lye( sodium hydroxide)

All 3 of these combined together produces a brand new product “ the soap” , a plain simple , our ancestors used to make.
No long ingredients just plain soap that cleansed.

Yet its true magic lies in the natural ingredients that can be added to enhance both performance and skin-loving benefits.
Many soap maker like myself , has gone tru and long trial and error experiments to come up with the perfect recipe os soap that are made for specific skin type or skin needs

I always try to get it from a reputable source.
and even if I order some of them from Amazon, I always check out the company that sells and manufactures them and where the raw products are from.
