The naupaka is one of Hawai‘i’s most poetic flowers—instantly recognizable by its delicate half-blossom. Found growing both by the sea (naupaka kahakai) and in the mountains (naupaka kuahiwi), it carries a story of love separated yet forever connected.

According to Hawaiian moʻolelo, two lovers were torn apart—one remaining by the ocean, the other in the uplands. Their flowers bloom in halves, a quiet reminder that some things are meant to be reunited.

Simple, meaningful, and deeply rooted in place—the naupaka is a symbol of connection, balance, and enduring love.
