There is a quiet story hidden inside a simple bottle of soy sauce. Not loud. Not flashy. Just patient, like something that has been doing its work long before we arrived.

Believe or not, Kikkoman has been quietly shaping American kitchens for decades. Its history begins in Japan, where soy sauce was brewed with patience and care for centuries. Today, it is recognized worldwide, not because of flashy marketing, but because its traditional brewing process creates depth, balance, and that unmistakable umami flavor.

After spending more than two decades in dental practice, I came to appreciate something many people overlook. The mouth is not separate from the body. It is the gateway to it. And saliva is one of the body’s most remarkable protective systems.

Todaty I made a little festive creation. Steamed mountain yam, mashed until silky smooth, rolled into soft round bites. Then crowned with warm blueberry compote that gently melts down the sides.

Simple. Clean. Real food.

I love honoring tradition, but I also love giving it a fresh, nourishing twist. Mountain yam supports digestion and brings gentle strength.
Blueberries add brightness and powerful antioxidants.
Together they become something both comforting and quietly vibrant.

Round shapes for a reason.
Wholeness. Harmony. Home.

Wishing you a joyful Lantern Festival 🏮🏮🏮and a life that feels beautifully complete!!!

祝愿你圆霄节快乐!🏮🏮🏮

In today’s world, diet has become a declaration.
“Keto for life.”
“Go 100 percent vegan.”
“Never touch carbs again.”
“Protein is everything.”

It sounds confident. It sounds decisive. It even sounds disciplined.

But the human body is not a slogan.

Our bodies were built on diversity. Long before diet trends had hashtags, our ancestors survived through adaptation. They ate what the land offered. What grew in season? What animals were available? What climate is demanded???

The wisdom of generations, healing bowl.

Lotus Root & Pork Rib Soup(莲藕排骨汤), a bowl of healing passed down through generations.

Chinese New Year is here, carrying the rhythm of renewal and hope. A Year of Stallions, vibrant and energetic, reminds me of growth, resilience, and strength that run wild and free. Every new year invites reflection, and for me, it often leads back to the foods that shaped my childhood. Lotus root rises from the mud yet remains pure and whole, its connected chambers symbolizing continuity and family bonds. A bowl of lotus root soup at the turn of the year feels like more than nourishment. It feels like honoring where we came from while stepping forward with strength and grace.

Imagine this:
You visit your doctor for ongoing health concerns.
He looks at you and says,
“If you can walk or run 14 marathons this year, your health will improve.”
You’d probably laugh. Or panic. Or quietly decide it’s not for you. Fourteen marathons sounds unreasonable. Unrealistic. Crazy.
But let’s pause. And look closer.

Why Some People Should Eat Stir-Fried Lettuce Instead of Cold Salad?

Cold salads look fresh. Clean. Healthy. But health is not one size fits all.

For some bodies, especially at certain stages of life, cold lettuce is simply too much of a shock. The body does not reject it loudly at first. It whispers through bloating, fatigue, coughing at night, or a stomach that never feels quite settled.

This is where stir-fried lettuce quietly shines.

Who benefits most from stir-fried lettuce?

-People with weak digestion;
-Women who feel cold easily;
-Those with chronic coughing or reflux at night;
-People recovering from illness or trauma.

Sometimes the most healing change is as simple as choosing the pan over the bowl.

An end-of-year note from my heart!❤️

As this year gently comes to a close, I find myself filled with gratitude. Gratitude for life itself, for the ability to move, to learn, to heal, and to keep growing. Gratitude for the seasons that shaped me this year, both the bright ones and the quieter, more reflective moments that asked me to slow down and listen.
This year allowed me to travel in ways that deeply touched my heart…
