Detail work is crucial for giving the cut that polished look. Sure you can get away without doing it. But when you do it, it helps the cut pop more and it helps the blend look better as well

This is why I still take walk ins if I got the chance. Just got me a new client. Just from sitting at the shop.
Most of yall would’ve left cause it was “slow” and missed out on an opportunity. When the shop is open you should be in the shop!
Shot form barber tutorials may help a bit… but they don’t show everything. Can you learn from them? Absolutely. Will you learn everything. Negative.
Nothing wrong with watching to help you sharpen up a bit, but a lot have been cut from a 30 min video. No way they can show everything in 30 seconds.
And I’m not hating on em cause I do them as well. But just know it’s not the actual full haircut and there are some things that may have been cut out to fit for the video.

Sometimes that may line up with the type of cuts you like to do, sometimes it won’t. Should you learn how to do both. Yes. Do you have to. No. It’s up to you
BUT knowing how to do both can help you attract a wider range of clients. Just saying 🤷🏽♂️
