Protective styles aren’t always protective 👀
If your scalp is tight, itchy, or inflamed… that’s damage, not protection.
Too much tension = breakage
No moisture = dryness
Leaving styles in too long = buildup + shedding
Real protection = healthy scalp + low tension + proper care
It’s not just the style… it’s how you wear it 💆🏽♀️✨

One of the most overlooked causes of hair loss…
Scalp inflammation
When your scalp is inflamed, your follicles struggle to function
Which means your hair struggles to grow
This is why proper assessment matters ✨
Welcome to the 2nd week of April. Remember this month is all about Scalp & Hair.
If you’ve tried multiple products and nothing is working…
It’s not the products.
Most hair concerns are deeper than what you can see.
✨ Scalp Health
Your scalp is living tissue. Inflammation, buildup, or poor circulation can block healthy growth before it even starts.
✨ Hormones
Hormonal imbalances (like thyroid issues, PCOS, or postpartum shifts) can disrupt your hair cycle and lead to thinning or shedding.
✨ Stress
Chronic stress can push your hair into a shedding phase (telogen effluvium) and slow down regrowth. Your body will always prioritize survival over hair.
✨ Nutrition
If your body is lacking key nutrients like iron, protein, vitamin D, or B vitamins, your hair won’t have what it needs to grow strong and healthy.
You can’t treat a root problem with surface solutions.
Shedding is normal…
but excessive shedding is NOT.
✨ Normal = about 100–150 strands a day
🚩 Excessive looks like:
• Clumps in the shower
• Hair all over your pillow
• Thinning ponytail or edges
Your body could be signaling: – Stress
– Hormone imbalance
– Scalp inflammation
– Nutrient deficiencies
Your hair is a reflection of your internal health AND your scalp.

DID YOU KNOW 👀
Hair shedding is normal… but excessive shedding is not.
If you’re losing more than 100–150 strands a day, your scalp could be trying to tell you something.
Your hair is a reflection of what’s happening internally AND at the root.
Stay tuned, I'm going to be breaking this all down ✨
✨ Welcome to April ✨
Not just hair…
what’s happening beneath it matters.
Your scalp is living tissue and it holds the key to your hair health.
This month, I’m sharing clinical insights on hair & scalp health 🤍
If nothing has worked for you yet… stay tuned.
✨ Self-Care Sunday Reminder ✨
Today is your permission slip to slow down. To rest without guilt.
To pour back into yourself the same energy you pour to everyone else.
Self-care isn’t always spa days and candles (although we love those too 💆🏽♀️).
Sometimes it’s:
• Drinking your water
• Saying “no” without explanation
• Getting your check-ups scheduled
• Protecting your peace
• Choosing rest over burnout
As a nurse practitioner, I’ll always remind you & myself, that your health is your foundation. You cannot show up fully for others if you’re running on empty.
✨️Take a moment today… breathe, reset, and do something that feels good to your mind, body, and soul. You deserve it.

🌿 Rooted in Wellness: Sunday Reset
Sundays are for slowing down, checking in, and realigning with what your body and mind truly need.
Before the new week begins, take a moment to ask yourself:
✨ Did I nourish my body this week?
✨ Did I protect my peace?
✨ Did I give myself grace?
Wellness isn’t just about what you do, it’s about how you feel while doing it. It’s choosing rest without guilt, hydration over depletion, and peace over pressure.
Today, I encourage you to:
💧 Drink your water
🥗 Choose one nourishing meal
🧠 Reset your mindset
💆🏾♀️ Do something that calms your nervous system
Small, intentional steps lead to lasting transformation.
