Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, coping well with stress and adopting a strong emotional outlook play an important part in the prevention of illness. 🌸
It is important to eat a healthy, balanced diet and to eat the correct proportions of certain types of food. Too much protein, saturated animal fat, sugar, and vegetable fat can cause sluggishness and sow the seeds of future chronic illness.
Conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, gallbladder disease, and diverticular disease are linked to the overconsumption of certain foods, especially fatty, refined, and cholesterol rich foods.
Meat and poultry are good sources of protein, but because they contain saturated animal fat they should not be eaten excessively.
Fish should not be eaten more than twice a week. Choose oily fish, which provide essential fatty acids in preference to other fish. The twice a week rule helps simplify diet planning and ensure healthier eating.
Eggs are an excellent source of protein, but because they are high in cholesterol they should be eaten in moderation.
Dairy products, cheese and butter are particularly high in saturated fat and salt, and should be eaten in moderation.
Whole-grain bread, flour, and cereals, whole wheat pasta, nuts, seeds, legumes, fresh fruit, and vegetables are all important sources of essential nutrients and should form the bulk of a balanced diet.
Sweet refined foods such as chocolate, cookies, cakes, and pastries are full of calories, but have a little nutritional value.

To give your skin the correct treatment you need to ascertain your skin type.
You can test your skin by, cleaning your face thoroughly, rinse well and dry with a towel. Allow it to rest for two hours or overnight and then press a tissue onto your face.
If the tissue comes away full of grease , you have oily skin; if there is grease only on parts of it ( usually from around the forehead, nose, & chin ), you have combination skin.
If the tissue comes away unmarked, wash your face with soap and water. If your skin feels supple & smooth afterwards, it’s normal; if it feels taut, it’s dry.
