On SundayI took my daughter to see one of her favorite Kpop group at Smart Financial Center in Sugar land. While the gentlemen put on a great concert for the kids, SFC still has not invested in logistics for crowd control. I say still because when I was teaching in the area, the district gave an event at the stadium and getting 3k to 4k people into the stadium was mess. Yesterdays experience was equally if not more messy.

The tempurature outside was 98 degrees with a heat index of 108. It was sugessted not to get there earlier than 4:30.

Some kids arrived earlier to participate in a random dance event that was based on the music of the artist that were performing so from 3 to 4 they dance and then gathered to get prepared to enter the venue.

The logistics to getting in was horrible. You can see from my picutes that there were 6 to 8 silver columns upfront so people understood to line up behind those. So in the sweltering heat kids and parents lined up but real lines were non-existent. The were no partitions to define the lines for smooth entry. People gathered herdishly many jumping ahead of those who had been there for hours.

There was no courtsey of tent cover in the lines to help with heat. While we were thankful for the water that was brought out. The cases were sat in random places and the crowd was left to their own devices of how to get this wate so again the experience was messy.

It wasn't enough that the crowd control was bad but entering with workers out measuring bags to be sure they were 4x6 was rediculous when you have 3,000 plus people trying get out of the extreme heat and into the building.

Kids had to throw away purses, umbrellas and a host of items before entering.

Upon entering the crowd control in the main lobby was horrible as well. Kids wanted to purchase merchandise before the show and the same types of undefined herdishly lines that were outside of the venue was reflected inside of the venue's main lobby.

Though I believe the event hall itself is wonderful and no matter where one is seated the view is great, management's poor crowd control leaves a lot to be desired.

Even exiting the parking lot afterwards was poorly handled.

Parents spent lots of money for the event the least management can do is get some measures in place for crowd control before and after the events held at the venue so the entire experience is a good one.

Extremely disappointed in the poor logistical planning for crowd control.
