This isn’t a book that simply tells you what happens during midlife.

I wanted to talk about what you can DO with that information.

Inside You’re Not Crazy, we explore hormones, metabolism, sleep, mood, energy, brain function, body composition, and stress—and then dig into the tools that may help.

Nutrition.
Strength training.
Recovery.
Hormone therapy.
Supplements and medications.
Testing.
Knowing when to dig deeper.
And advocating for yourself when you know something has changed.

You don’t need to do everything.

You need enough information to identify your next right step.

📖 You’re Not Crazy is available now on Kindle: https://a.co/d/0bAu0GI3

Coffee = swiping your energy credit card 💳. It makes your adrenals pump out cortisol and adrenaline, but the “bill” comes due later with fatigue, anxiety, or poor sleep.

A patient of mine swapped afternoon coffee for a protein smoothie + short walk. Within 2 weeks, her energy was more steady and she slept better.

👉 Focus on building real energy: balanced meals, daily movement, stress management, and 7–9 hours of sleep. 🛌

💬 Comment adrenal recovery and I’ll show you how to build lasting energy without coffee running the show.

“I’m doing the same things I’ve always done. Why aren’t they working anymore?”

I hear versions of this question from women all the time.

Midlife can change the way your body responds to sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress, recovery, and hormonal shifts.

That doesn’t mean there’s one magic fix.

It means we may need to stop expecting the strategies from our 20s and 30s to automatically be the right strategies for our 40s and 50s.

You’re Not Crazy is about understanding those changes—and learning what you can do with that information.

“Decaf is safe anytime.” ❌ Not true. Decaf still has caffeine (5–30 mg), which can raise cortisol and affect your circadian rhythm. If your adrenals are already stressed, even that little bit matters.

Drinking 3 cups of decaf could equal the same caffeine as one cup of regular! 😮

👉 Swap your second or third coffee for rooibos tea, peppermint tea, or an adaptogen latte (like ashwagandha 🌱).

Comment adrenal recovery and I’ll send you my favorite caffeine-free swaps.

That 3 pm crash isn’t because you’re lazy — it’s because your cortisol rhythm is out of sync ⏳. Too much caffeine early pushes cortisol high, then it drops like a rock later.

Think of a swing — if you push too hard in the morning, it swings back just as hard later. That’s your slump.

👉 Instead of another coffee, grab water 💧 + a balanced snack (protein + carbs + fat). Try apple slices + almond butter or hummus + carrots.

💬 Comment adrenal recovery for simple ways to fix your 3 pm energy dip.

Midlife health is about so much more than a single hormone level.

Hormonal changes can intersect with sleep, metabolism, muscle and body composition, mood, brain function, energy, sexual health, and the way your body responds to stress.

That’s one of the reasons this stage of life can feel so confusing.

You’re Not Crazy connects those pieces without giving you 47 more things to feel like you’re failing to do.

The goal is simpler:

Understand your body.
Know your options.
Choose your next right step.

Drinking coffee on an empty stomach = 🚨 cortisol spike + blood sugar crash. That’s why you get shaky hands, anxiety, and cravings. Coffee + no food = stressed adrenals + low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).

It’s like sending your body on a roller coaster with no seatbelt 🎢. You’re up fast, then crash hard.

👉 Always pair coffee with food. Example: 2 scrambled eggs + avocado 🥑 or Greek yogurt + nuts. This slows caffeine absorption and keeps blood sugar stable.

💬 Comment adrenal recovery and I’ll share easy swaps to enjoy your coffee without the crash.

Maybe you can’t point to one big thing that’s wrong.

You just know you don’t feel like yourself.

Your sleep changed.
Your energy changed.
Your body changed.
Your mood changed.
Your ability to handle stress changed.

And suddenly the strategies that worked for you for years aren’t working anymore.

That experience deserves more than “you’re just getting older.”

You’re Not Crazy was written to help women understand what may actually be changing during midlife—and what they can do next.

Did you know caffeine has a half-life of 6–8 hours? That means half of your latte at noon is still in your blood at 8 pm ⏰. This keeps cortisol and adrenaline high, blocking deep sleep and REM sleep. 🌙

If you drink a 200 mg coffee at noon, you still have about 100 mg in your system at bedtime — that’s like a whole cup of coffee keeping you up!

👉 Set a caffeine cutoff time. Try stopping at 11 am and see how your sleep improves in 1–2 weeks.

💬 Comment adrenal recovery to learn how to reset your energy without wrecking your sleep.
