The dogs are too busy playing in the snow today so we decided to close the shop. I'm still taking phone calls and scheduling appointments. Maybe I can start virtual grooming. I'll supervise you grooming your pet via video call. Ha ha.

Today is the 29th anniversary of
THE DOG HOUSE. Bow wow wowzers! That's a long time. And we're still going strong. Thank you God for a great partnership, co workers, customers, and spouses. Life is good, even in 2020.

We want to thank all of our loyal customers for their business during this trying time. We will be open as usual for business. However we do ask that you use common sense. Today, Ellen Johnson, reminded me that she has been a customer of our since before we opened up in November of 1991. That was a long time ago. She has shared her life with many a fine poodle and has allowed us the privilege of caring for them all. Ellen has always been a an excellent doggie mom, and a wonderful person to be around. She is 82 years old now and is an inspiration to all of us at the Dog house. We are very thankful to be able to have gotten to know Ellen and all her dogs throughout the past 30 years. We are so very thankful for our faithful customers that have become our friends and we truly thank God for all of you. We look forward to the years to come with great people like Ellen.

It worked. OMG! This is sooo delicious. She even brought us dinnerware. Chocolate cream meringue pie. I didn't know there was such a thing. She can have her dog back now.

Don't tell us your baking a chocolate cream pie from scratch when you drop off your dog. This could happen to you!

It's spring time!

When a dogs coat is packed with fur that is not regularly brushed out, their skin cannot breathe and they cannot properly regulate their temperature. Regular grooming promotes healthy skin and coat and most importantly keeps your dog happier and comfortable! If you have a triple coated dog that is not indigenous to this area and you don't brush out the packed undercoat at least once a week or take it to a professional groomer once a month for a de-shed treatment, you can expect bacteria build up, ye**ty, oily, itchy red skin and raw spots, parasites, and a very uncomfortable dog. Once the coat is too far gone and the dog becomes matted and the skin becomes raw and inflamed, the groomer might recommend a shave down to treat the skin and allow it to breathe. Although we don't like to recommend shaving triple coated dogs, often for health or other reasons like humanity over vanity, sometimes it has to be done. This is a time consuming procedure for the groomer and can be quite costly $ for the owner. Don't forget to get your baby regularly groomed to keep him healthy and happy !
