Helping Hands Barber

I'm stoked to share that I'm almost done with barber school, which is a huge deal for me because I'm one step closer to living my dream. I recently aced the first of two licensing exams, so I'm on track to finish school by the end of the year and get my barbering license. My ultimate goal is to open a barbershop that caters to neurodivergent kids and adults, because let's be real, our community needs it.

Thank you again to Bortz Graphix Plus for producing my shirts. We have an upcoming event on October 25th. I would be delighted to see you there.

Although school is out for the week, we still cut hair. A good friend of mine asked for a haircut today, and I invited him over to the house to take care of it.

Going forward, I will be in attendance at Crown Cutz Academy in Bristol, located at 805 Commonwealth Avenue, Bristol, Va. I will continue to accept clients, with the location being the only change. 🎆 Sensory-Friendly Fun at Freedom Hall! 🎆

We are honored to partner once again with the City of Johnson City for this year’s Independence Day Celebration at Freedom Hall! Appalachian Banner Academy will be hosting a “Calm-Down Sensory Space” in the Auxiliary Gym, specially designed for individuals with autism and sensory processing differences. 💙

This quiet, welcoming area will be staffed with volunteers to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all. Families can also enjoy a dedicated outdoor firework viewing area nearby for a more accessible experience.

My boy came in, and gave me free reign. So got him clean up looking right.

I know I've already introduced Deeks once but My man came in, he was ready this time!! And guess what?! WE DID IT! we got to do the haircut! Did we have to take breaks? Yes we did! And that's okay!!! WE DID IT! Did we play with bubbles? You know it. Did we listen to again? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. That's all that matters! WE DID IT. And we did it WITHOUT making it a traumatic experience! THIS IS WHY IM DOING THIS! I'm wanting to change the whole stigma around neurodivergent kids/adults! THEY CAN DO IT!! you just have to show them love and patience. Once again, im just so HAPPY how Deeks did today. It was awesome. Thank you all for entrusting me with your kids! I PROMISE , I will do everything in my power to make sure everyone who sits in my chair to make sure they feel like family. Because EVERYONE IS FAMILY AT TURF'S

Hello everyone! I want you to meet Deacon! This little dude here! Came in today! And his mom was worried about getting an haircut just with past experience being terrible! And I said you don't have to worry about it! I will 100% make sure this isn't traumatic experience for him. And with that being the case, I might not cut his hair the first time , because I'm wanting him to get used to me! So what we did today? We danced! We played with bubbles! Listen to and and just had FUN! Getting a haircut doesn't have to be a traumatic experience for anyone! When I go to open my shop! This IS how things will be done!
