Hi, I’m Hannah Thorson- the stylist behind Salon Solstice.

Hair has always felt deeply personal to me, it shapes our identity, comfort, confidence, and self expression.

I created Salon Solstice to feel calm, personal, and collaborative. A space where guests can slow down, feel heard, and leave feeling confident. I specialize in creating custom hair color that is uniquely tailored to you and your lifestyle.

I’m crunch(ish), like ingredient-conscious but still wearing aluminum deodorant and will pound a bag of purple Doritos every once in a while.

Outside of hair, I am an animal lover (I have 2 cats and a golden retriever who sometimes tags along as a shop dog.) I am a foodie, certified personal trainer, reader, gardener, feminist, yogi, choir member, and generally artsy and fartsy.

Salon Solstice has looked like a construction zone for what feels like forever. I’m finally starting to see the vision come to life. There’s still a lot to be done, but Junie B looks pretty proud of the work we’ve accomplished so far 🫶🏼☀️

The Maid of Honor with the beautiful curls originally wanted me to straighten them, and I thought I was being stabbed in my heart?? 💔 As is the story with so many curly girls, she had been told her curls weren’t fancy or polished and needed to be straightened for the events such as this.

When the reality is: curls are SO ROMANTIC 💕🥹

I’m honored that she gave me the opportunity to show her just how special her natural curls really are.

I am on my 6TH YEAR behind the chair already, and I love my career. My philosophy is that while you’re in my chair, you have my undivided attention. I set up my books in a way that allows me to take my time with each individual, you can’t rush art. (Toy Story reference I am a Disney adult)

I provide custom hair color that will fit your personality, color profile, and lifestyle. I strive to create an environment that is welcoming and comfortable so we can collaborate on what look will be best suited for you.
