What’s your process? Retwist the whole head first, or retwist + style as you go?

Me personally, I think it depends on the head and the style. For two strands or braids, I usually retwist the entire head first so I can make sure everything is even, especially the front.

For most other styles, I’ve always styled as I go. But lately I’ve been thinking about retwisting the entire head first no matter the style. I feel like it helps keep everything more consistent, and with barrel styles especially, having the whole head retwisted first might make the finished look a lot cleaner.

I wanna hear everybody’s process! 👀 Which method do you prefer, and which one do you think is faster?
