Recently spent the day at Haus of Marin, an aesthetic medical facility, photographing their all woman team — group shots on the steps, plus individual portraits for everyone.

One of my favorite parts of team photography: it's never just one shot. Everyone gets an individual portrait that's actually theirs — for LinkedIn, a bio page, wherever they need to show up as themselves, not just a face in a lineup.

Before the camera 📸 even comes out — picking the right pieces together, slipping into comfy shoes 👟 for the in-between moments, and final touches from our makeup artist.

We help you choose your wardrobe, bring a hair & makeup artist on set, and show up with a draft shot list and mood board so nothing's left to figure out on the fly. You just have to show up and follow my lead.

This is what I love about photographing women in their next chapter: creating images that feel credible, approachable and completely connected to what they do. ✨

How do you want to be seen?

Some businesses just have a feeling to them. 🌿

That was definitely the case when I photographed Dr. Ariane Wlasak, DAOM, L.Ac. of Acorn Medicine.

Ariane is a gentle teacher and healer, and you can feel how thoughtful she is about the space she creates for her clients. So we wanted her images to feel the same way — warm, calm, inviting and very human. 🤍

This is where the brand photographer + creative director part of my brain kicks in. 😉

We talked about who needed to be in the images, what she wanted her clients to feel, and which parts of her practice were important to show.

Then we moved furniture. 😂 Tried different angles. Found the beautiful window light and added strobes where we needed them. We even brought in “clients” so the images would feel natural rather than staged.

Little decisions make a big difference.

The result is a collection of images that feels like Acorn Medicine — soft, grounded, thoughtful and welcoming. 🌱✨

This is one of my favorite things about brand photography: getting underneath the surface of a business and creating images that let people feel what it’s like to be there. 📸

Women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond are doing some of the most interesting, intentional work I’ve ever photographed. 👩‍🎓 🕵️‍♀️ 🦹‍♀️

They know who they are. They know what they’re building. They just need images that finally say it out loud. 💬

That’s the work I get to do.

I don’t take it lightly—But I do believe there should be plenty of lightness along the way. ✨

Some people are just really good company in front of a camera. 😄✨

Vernā Myers is one of those people.

We had such a fun, chatty, lively shoot together a few years ago—and looking back at these images, I’m reminded how much I love creating portraits that have a little range. 📸

Yes, I’ll guide you through posing so you know what to do with your hands, where to put your feet and how to find an angle that makes you look fantastic. 😉 But I also want to give you room to move, laugh, shift, loosen up and let your personality show up.

Because sometimes the magic happens somewhere between the “Okay, hold that…” and the “Alright, now just move!” moments. 💃✨

And those little glimpses of movement can tell us a whole lot about who someone is.

Add in gorgeous fall color, beautiful light and Vernā’s unmistakable presence… and you get portraits with some real life in them. 🍂💙

A little studio time with Nattalee = a whole lot of spark. ✨⚡️

Nattalee is a coach and business strategist who brings energy, curiosity and a very lively presence to everything she does. My job was to make sure her headshots captured some of that. 💫

I ask clients to arrive camera-ready with two favorite outfits that feel like them and fit their brand. 👗👚 Then we play. 🎉

We try different poses, explore colors and backgrounds, find the angles that feel natural, and—most importantly—get to those delicious smiles that actually look and feel like you. 😍

Because a great headshot should do more than show people what you look like.

It should give them a little sense of who they’re going to meet. 👋✨

Nattalee made that part pretty easy. 💃📸

There’s a big difference between thinking you’re ready for a photoshoot and actually FEELING ready. ✨

That’s why we spend so much time getting there — talking about your brand, your style, your wardrobe, the images you love, and most importantly, who you are NOW.

Then comes the fun part. 💄 Lipstick perfected, wardrobe tweaked, a little nervousness, lots of laughter — and suddenly you’re ready to step in front of the camera and BE SEEN.

Honestly? It feels a little like a girlfriends’ retreat… with a camera. 📸💋🥂

There’s a big difference between having your picture taken and creating a portrait that actually feels like you at your best. ✨

It starts before the camera ever comes out. We talked through outfits 👗, played with possibilities, and gave her time to settle in with hair and makeup 💄. Because let’s be honest… most of us need a minute before we’re ready to have a camera pointed at us. 😂

Then comes the magic of having a team around you. ✨

Someone watching the details.
A visual artist noticing how you move, when you relax, where the light hits just right. 📸
Someone making you laugh when you start taking yourself too seriously. 😏
And someone in your corner reminding you that, yes—you really do look that good. 🙌

That’s what I love about this work. It’s not just about taking a beautiful picture. It’s about helping you see—and show—the most powerful version of yourself. 💫

You don’t have to know how to pose.
You don’t have to “be photogenic.”
You just need to show up. ❤️
