One of the smartest decisions I ever made was raising my right hand and joining the United States Air Force.

The camaraderie. The strength. The leadership. The knowledge.
And most of all, the bonds that last a lifetime.

Serving changed how I see the world and how I show up in it. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.

To everyone who served, thank you!

We met when we were both 20 years old. We became friends at our college work study job. She was an international business major and I was a nursing student. From day one, she spoke with bold certainty about everything she was going to do and what is going to make her successful.

I will never forget the African Proverb she told me. I got the meaning of the African Proverb as soon as she recited it. She also told me to stay hungry during each phase of my success and not to just settle for anything, but I should always settle for more.

To everyone reinventing themselves right now: stay hungry, but be intentional about what you feed on.

True leadership starts with self-prioritization, not self-neglect.
If you don’t see your name on your own list, it’s time to fix that.

I was with 300 women Presidents, CEOs, Global Managing Partners, Managing Directors, and Chief Sustainability Officers. These high achieving women were all in one space, sharing what it really takes to lead, rise, mentor and stay grounded. The energy was unreal.

I’m beyond honored to be part of the Foundation for Women Warriors, Women Veterans Lead Cohort 2025 and one of twenty two women veterans selected in the Future Leaders Program at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit.

Hard work alone isn’t the golden ticket.
Keeping your head down might get the job done but it won’t always get you noticed.

The truth? Success isn’t just about grinding. It’s about who you are while you’re doing the work.

You have to first lead yourself.
Leadership doesn’t come from mimicry, it comes from you owning your voice, your compassion, your path and your outcome.

What would’ve happened to some of us if we respected other people’s opinion of us and what we should do more than our own voice?

It’s so hard to say goodbye to a fellow Bison. I will not say goodbye because you completed your mission but your legacy lives on. 😭

Rest in Honor to one of my personal heroes John Lewis. I am taking his death pretty hard. He fought for justice for all of us with no apologies even though “Justice and equality for all” and “All men are created equal” was/is against the law. Rest now King, you have completed your mission and your legacy will live on through the ones that will continue to push the envelope for what you started. I am part of your legacy.
