🚩🚩🚩 to look out for before accepting a client!

1️⃣ Always canceling or constant no show! 🙅🏽‍♀️
Life happens and you can never stop stuff from happening but if it’s a reoccurring theme or a 50-50% chance that a client is going to show up, it might be best to drop them. Taking the time to book them and saving a time slot for them when someone else could’ve booked it, and actually showed up is not good business. That’s not fair to yourself!

2️⃣ Dirty Lashes! 🚫🧼🫧
If it’s a reoccurrence, after explaining the aftercare instructions, cleaning steps, and maybe even showing how to properly clean them, it might be best to just fire them. Especially if cleaning them is cutting into other client’s service time!

3️⃣ Constantly moving techs! 🗺️🏃🏽‍♀️💨
I understand moving techs when first trying lashes and trying to find a person for you but if the clients’ years into getting lash extensions and they’re still moving clients, it might be a sign that they might give you a hard time. Best way to avoid that is by not taking them on in the first place.

4️⃣ It’s a new client and they’re asking you to break policy! 🥺🚫📝
The reason I say a new client is because it might be different if a returning client or a client that you’re comfortable and familiar with asks you to break policy but when it’s a new client in the first few appointments, it’s a red flag. Having a policy is like setting up boundaries with your clients and when they feel comfortable, breaking those boundaries, not good!

Please be careful with the type of clients that you’re accepting! ALL BUSINESS IS NOT GOOD BUSINESS!

🚩🚩🚩 to look out for before booking a service!

1️⃣ Speedy Gonzales ⏳
I know a full set in an hour sounds amazing! However, in order to get proper isolation and not ruin your natural lashes, it might be best to look other places.
2️⃣ Red Eyes always in pictures! 👁️
It’s normalized nowadays for eyes to be red after the application of lash extensions. However with the right preparation, products, and final steps; it is not. Run!
3️⃣ No aftercare instructions! 🗒️
Retention is a team effort of both the application from the Lash Tech and the aftercare from the client! Unless you’re a returning client that knows the aftercare instructions. All lash techs should assume that you do not and go over that with you.
4️⃣ Lashes falling out in clumps! 😱
There’s a difference between shedding and falling out, especially in clumps. The clumps mean that proper isolation isn’t being made and when it’s falling out, it means the natural lash can’t go through its full cycle of growth so it’s falling out.

Please be safe and do your research before trusting people with your eye area!

Happy Fri-Yay!

Here's some aftercare tips for your lash extension:

1️⃣ WASH YOUR LASHES!
Keeping your extensions clean is not only key to lost-lasting lashes but eye health as well! When you're not cleansing regularly or correctly it leads to potential infections, irritations, poor lash health/growth and lash mites! Best way to prevent that? Using a gentle cleanser (specifically made for lash extensions, no shampoo, dish/dawn soap, laundry detergent 🥴 , baby soap, etc), warm water and a lash brush and/or mascara wand!

2️⃣ Picking/pulling lashes, rubbing eyes

Picking and pull at the extensions will only cause damage to your natural lashes, you are more likely to also pull out your own natural lashes.

3️⃣ No mascara, lash curlers
Using waterproof mascara or any type of oil based mascara will dissolve the bonding agent. It will cause the hairs to clump together and can be extremely difficult to THROUGHLY remove ALL mascara residue off the lashes. The mascara wand may also attach to your extensions and pull them.

For lash curler, any friction against extensions can lead to lash or extension loss.

4️⃣ Oil-free products ONLY

Oils are the number one enemy to eyelash extensions. Oil eats down at the cyanoacrylate bond to dissolve and consequently affecting how long the lashes will last.

5️⃣ Extreme heat can causSpuces of heat include but not limited to: blow dryer on the highest heat setting, stoves, ovens, grills, lighters, smoke or anything with an open flame.

6️⃣ Only sleep on back or side!
The goal is to keep you lashes off the pillow because like mentioned earlier in this post, friction can lead to lash and/or extension loss. If you absolutely have to sleep on your back, purchase an eye cover for lash extensions and see how that works!

7️⃣ Professional Removal Only 🙅🏽‍♀️
For cost effective ways to remove them, look to oils like coconut, vegetable, olive and castor; but if it’s giving you hard times when removing, please call a professional.

8️⃣ Schedule fills in timely manner.

Hello December!

The 12th month of the year— meaning that the gift giving holidays are in about 4 weeks and the New Year’s in about 5.

For any good or different habits you want to pick up or change, now might be a good time, so the pressure of “New Year’s Resolution” isn’t so much of a negative component but more so of a progress or accountability checker. For myself, I’ve challenged myself to post more on my social media, go to sleep earlier and incorporate more protein into my diet. Are there any challenges for the month of December you’ve given yourself ahead of New Year’s?
