We wear our hair dry- not wet. Haircuts are meant to be finished, fined tuned, and refined while DRY. Sure, start your cut wet, get the foundation on wet, but always finish dry. I used to only cut hair dry. You can always re touch up your blowout after the cut, but if you emphasize on the blowout and not ruining the blowout after the cut, you can miss a lot of mistakes and details. Blowouts will 100% hide your mistakes, but once a client washes and does her own hair, it will be inevitable to miss those spots. This is how you can miss a choppy haircut, or holes from blending the back to the front. During a haircut, half of your haircut should be cross checking your own work, over and over again. Little details matter and TRUST when I say, a great haircut goes a long way. So many stylists struggle with haircuts, however a good haircut can really put you at top and make you stand out from the get go. I’ve had clients start off with coming to me for a haircut while being loyal to their stylist for color but weren’t satisfied with their cut, then fully transition to booking with me to get all services done in one roof. Don’t underestimate the power of a great haircut and how that can improve your business.
