I’m no health guru, a licensed dietician or health professional but I was taught by one, my mom. It just wasn’t my thing. But eating healthy has always been a priority for me, especially raising kids and being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (which I am now in remission). I come from a long history of ancestors who grew their own food, tended beautiful gardens and always preferred home cooked meals to restaurant – fast food meals. So I’m happy to share what meals I cook…on a budget.
Many people are struggling and in financial situations where after mortgage/rent, utilities and bare essentials are paid, often times have barely anything left for food. So I went on a challenge at The Dollar Tree to see how a full meal could be prepared for under $10. And I was pleasantly surprised at what I found.
