Curl Training is so important for many reasons …Most stylists don’t receive ANY education on curly hair. All I was educated on is “be careful, the curls will spring up on you” while being taught to cut curls wet and straight. For godsakes my cosmetology kit didn’t even come with a diffuser attachment! ….. and this is exactly why so many of us carry curl trauma. Bad haircuts and stylists with no idea how to educate or help us style our hair. Well today is a big day for me, it’s been exactly 8 months since I graduated cosmetology school. Since the day I graduated, I have spent every week getting hands on training with curls. @oklahomacurlspecialist has taught me SO SO SO much, and has taken 8 months of her life educating me every single day and I am so grateful to be blessed with this experience. @bennettdidit so graciously let me cut their hair! And it is so nice to get hands on curl cutting experience….. just y’all wait until I officially give Bennett a Custom Curl Haus Cut! This is really how it felt trying to convince everyone to take me blonde 😂. Bennett and Sierra took me to my manic pink and then Ashley and Rissa helped me get the pink out like a week later when I was over it lol! The only competition is being better than who you were yesterday! I just wanted to take a little step away from hair and share a little of my motivation! What’re your intentions this year? 2024 energy is really just that girl! Wash Day can be a lot and some weeks it’s a struggle, but here are some tips to help you out and set you up for the week! 💫First off Scalp Care! ✨Is your scalp itchy and dry? Opt for a hydrating shampoo ✨Is your scalp getting greasy fast? Opt for a less hydrating shampoo, give your scalp a good scrub, and throw in a dry shampoo before styling! ✨You should be focusing the shampoo on your scalp and roots, be sure to get a good suds! If you’re noticing your shampoo is not bubbly/sudsy, opt for a second cleanse! 💫Next, Mids and Ends Care! ✨Our hydration should be super focused in this area! Apply your conditioner, working from the ends up to the root area. ✨Use the conditioner to help detangle your hair, this helps prevent breakage! 💫Finally, Styling Tips! ✨For Fellow Curlies, moisture everything for curls! Apply your gels and other products to your wet hair in the shower! Once your products are in, scrunch the water out of your hair with a hair towel or t-shirt! Add your finish spray, then diffuse (use a thermal protectant) or air dry fully before going to bed, and your hair is set for the week!
