Now can be a good opportunity to revisit your previous goals to see what you’ve achieved and add new goals to achieve for the remainder of the year!
When defining goals, use the "SMART" formula. SMART is a tool that provides clarity, focus and motivation when defining and taking steps to achieve your goals.
Here’s an example: when you are ready to incorporate a regular fitness routine into your schedule, but aren’t sure what to do or how to get started, use the SMART system:
Specific. Your goal should be clear and focused with a motivating factor. When creating a goal, determine exactly what you want to accomplish and why your goal is important.
Measurable. Having measurable goals allows you to track and assess your progress. For example, instead of "I'm going to walk regularly," try, "I am going to walk for 20 minutes at least three days a week."
Achievable. To be successful, your goal should be achievable. If you are new to the habit of healthy motion, don't run a marathon on your first day, or even run at all. Instead, start with baby steps and build upon them slowly. Celebrate the little victories that add up to the big ones!
Relevant. Align your goal with your values. If you value being caring toward yourself and others, you could set a goal to walk around your neighborhood for up to 30 minutes five days per week. I will also allow myself two days to rest each week.
Time-bound. Every goal should have a target date. Give yourself a deadline to work towards. It is important that your timeframe be realistic. Set small target dates to accomplish while working to meet your end goal. Be sure to document your process in your journal. Having a visual reminder will help keep you accountable.

For body and mind benefits, work out in greener pastures, a study in Psychological Science suggests. People who took a nature walk performed 20% better on memory tests immediately afterward than they did following a stroll in the city. A wooded wander helps the brain recharge, enhancing short-term memory, so you’re more likely to recall conversation details and phone numbers. Bye-Bye, Post-its!

Yum! I love a good cheeseburger. 🍔 This looks so great!
Cheeseburger Casserole
Makes 4 servings
Per serving
1 Lean protein
2 ½ vegetables
1 ½ condiments
1 lb lean ground beef
1 large head of cauliflower (orange, if you can find it)
2 tbsp. almond flour
1 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 1/2 cups 2 % cheddar cheese, grated (divided)
½ tsp seasoning salt
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Cut the cauliflower into florets, and steam them for about 5 minutes, until tender on the outside but still crisp in the middle.
In a saucepan, whisk the milk and almond flour together until smooth, and the mixture comes to a boil, then stir in 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Add seasoning salt, to taste.
Combine beef, cauliflower, and cheese sauce. Taste and add another pinch of seasoning salt, if desired.
Pour mixture into a casserole dish, and sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese.
Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes.

"My story is like many - I tried every diet under the sun and exercised in order to lose weight, achieving only minimal results. I was frustrated, hopeless and almost resigned myself to accepting being “big.” Then, I was introduced to a health program: not a diet, but rather a way of learning new lifestyle habits for long-term success. As a result, I’ve lost 180 pounds of fat and 86 inches from my body. My clothes have shrunk from a size 24W to a 4/6. I now have the ability to run more than a block without being winded and even enjoy running road races. When you set goals and change your mindset, it's amazing what you can accomplish. You can do this!” - Colleen

"There is no passion to be found playing small--in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living." -Nelson Mandela
I love this quote because it epitomizes WHY I do, what I do. I remember when I lacked passion and thought it was normal to go “through the motions” until I met a Health Coach that saw something in me that I could not see for myself. Since this day, I have pursued passion in everything I do and my life has never been better. I want this for YOU as well!

Teachers work so hard during the year pouring into their students and parents that they can sometimes put themselves on the back burner. Marie decided it was time to make a change and is modeling for her 6th graders the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Way to go, Marie! She is leading your students by example; fearlessness, strength, perseverance, dedication and confidence! She is truly an inspiration!

I became a Health Coach for one reason and one reason only - I WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Far too many people are struggling with their health which then compromises relationships, finances, happiness, and for that matter, their entire life. Once I learned about a BETTER way, it set me on a path to share this with as many people as possible. This is why I am proud to say that I am a Health Coach!

People ask me all the time about our program and why it is so unique. They obviously see my personal transformation but are curious about their own. There happens to be so many aspects of our program that truly place it in a league of its own, but the two reasons it has been so beneficial for me is that I have learned how to create Healthy Habits that are completely sustainable all while having the support of an entire community of Health Coaches who are highly motivated to help one another achieve success.

The best source of motivation on your Optimal Health journey is to surround yourself with people who are on the same path as you. Community is where support lives and where motivation is born. When you feel a sense of belonging with like-minded people, anything and everything becomes possible! This is one of the many reasons why people experience such a transformation on our program.

One of my favorite books was written by my mentor, Dr. Wayne Scott Andersen, called “Habits of Health.” This book has been life-changing for me because it taught me that it was time to thrive, instead of only survive. This book helped me realize that health was not only about reaching my ideal weight, but also include creating an Optimal Life. Truly a must read for anyone ready to make a transformation!
