I got into natural skincare because the products I was spending hundreds of dollars on started making my face burn.

I had done a 30-day life detox program with Ammie Chapman (406Gratitude ), and afterward I began paying closer attention to what I was using every day. The skincare products I’d trusted, and paid a lot for, suddenly didn’t feel good on my skin. That was hard to ignore.

So I started asking questions. I read labels. I learned about ingredients. I started making things and finding out what I actually liked using on my own skin. Ammie was an important part of the beginning of that journey, and I’m grateful she encouraged my curiosity.

That experience is a big part of why Allabout exists. I know what it feels like to spend money on something you think is good for you, only to find yourself standing at the sink thinking, why is my face on fire? 😅

I don’t think one product or routine works for everybody. I do think people deserve to know what they’re buying, feel comfortable asking questions, and have options that feel good to use. That matters to me because it started with my own face.

Since I’m asking you to share more of your story, I should probably share some of mine.

Stone City started in 2017. It didn’t come with a neat little list of services or a ten-year plan. I knew I liked making things happen, helping people figure out what they were trying to say, and doing the work that happens behind the scenes to bring an idea to life.

Over the years, that has meant websites, marketing, design, events, and a lot of figuring things out as I went. It also grew into Allabout, which started with me learning to make natural products and asking a whole lot of questions along the way.

Now we’re getting ready to bring both into a space on Main Street. I’ve been thinking about how different Stone City looks from where it began—and how much of it still feels like me.

Next year will be ten years. I definitely didn’t have all of this figured out when I started. Some days I still don’t. But I’ve learned a lot by showing up, listening, getting things wrong sometimes, and doing the next right thing.

That’s the person behind Stone City.

Websites, events, marketing, natural products...I know they might look like different things on a list, but they’ve always made sense together to me. They all start with the same question: What are we trying to make possible here?

Sometimes the answer is helping a business find the right words. Sometimes it’s building the website, planning the event, or making a product with my own hands that literally makes me feel better. I like helping people take an idea that’s been living in their head and make it real.

Nearly ten years in, I still get excited when someone says, “Okay, hear me out…” Those are usually my favorite conversations. 😂
