1,4-Dioxane is a synthetic industrial chemical that can be found in just about any everyday household product, including skin care, food additives, food packaging, produce sprayed with some pesticides, dish detergent and cleaners, paint st*****rs, dyes, greases, waxes, and varnishes. The chemical can also be found in drinking water in areas where plastics, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), have been manufactured.
Now the bad news: The chemical is linked to cancer and liver and kidney damage. Almost 90 million Americans in 45 states had it in their drinking water.
advice for how to avoid this dangerous chemical -1,4-Dioxane is by saying no to products with PEG, polyethylene, polyoxyethylene, and polyoxynolethylene and chemicals ending in “–eth” and “–oxynol."

Story Time: Last weekend my husband and I took our puppy and our youngest son to a favorite local park for a hike. We got 10 steps into the trail and we were ATTACKED by swarms of mosquitoes. We couldn't leave the trail fast enough and to my absolute horror, I watched about 30 of them follow my son to his side of the car as he swatted them away and I screamed for him to HURRY!
