What is Pretty on The Inside?
I thought the store was GlowGetter?

Well…years ago…it started as a “blog” and a place where some of my writings went. I created a place for togetherness, challenges, and a forum to support Women. Before there was ever Instagram & before the “everyone is an influencer craze” When not EVERYTHING was photographed perfectly and we shared the most imperfect and intermittent photos & posts!

BUT the name came from the loosely and freely used saying of “well she’s nice” as a way to still compliment a female that wasn’t appealing physically to a male counterpart…as though our worth was somehow still a little bit significant to them since we were “pretty on the inside”
I used the name as a way to bring light to that overused and cruel (in my opinion) sentiment toward Women.
So, is she HOT? Well….she’s really nice.
Ohhhh so I have the most valuable trait that there is….thanks. Xo 😘

Then over a decade later came the dream child brought to life…GlowGetter. The clothing brand/store that my daughter and I started. The meaning was similar…you want to glow inside/out…shine bright like a diamond….you know all the things…all reflective of your spirit INSIDE of you!!
We started doing shows/events and then landed in Long Beach in a brick and mortar shop.
It has since completely transitioned to online now (post 2020…need I say more)
BUT on FB I had kept it attached to the blog page I had held for years and years. So that’s the simple answer/version/explanation!!

This post I wrote back in 2019 has been recirculating so I thought I would share again ✨

We're all bad in someone's story – repeat this somewhere today to someone that needs to hear it. Maybe even YOU! It is the truth of life that everyone of us must deal with. We cannot please everyone or be in the good books of everyone. Someone somewhere will find our behavior inappropriate, offensive, or remember something we did to them that ruined their day, or week, or maybe even more.

The sad truth is that most likely you won’t be able to change their perceived opinion of you or thoughts about what they didn’t like about you no matter what you say or try to explain. They already planted the seed in their mind, and may have already watered it, Fed it, talked about it, and maybe even multiplied it into a garden of feelings towards you that had become a part of them.

Whether it’s a little something or a big something, an hour of time or years of time, you will at some point to someone be “the bad guy” in their story.

All you can do is try your best, improve and forgive, understand others with an open mind and heart. ♥️ Learn to love and live for those where you aren’t the bad guy. Put your energy into keeping good vibes with people that you already have them with and stop ignoring them to give attention to the ones who story about you will never change.

2020 and 2021 offered some of the highest numbers of trafficking we have ever seen.
The state of California has the highest amount of trafficking.

Victims are getting younger and younger and teenagers are being forced to traffic even younger victims.

The Online P**n industry is the most saturated with victims of trafficking offering very little security and traceability.

Human trafficking earns global profits of roughly $150 billion a year for traffickers, $99 billion of which comes from commercial sexual exploitation

They won’t make noise so we will.
Let these beautiful souls know they are not hidden. We will keep spreading awareness until the laws protect you and not them.

As a small business owner, an entrepreneur or whatever we want to call it, it can be exhausting and can definitely cause you to doubt yourself.

There isn’t a “boss” or a team always cheering you on, no one to “cover for you” it’s a risk, there is fear of uncertainty that maybe a 9-5 can provide.

There are late nights, early mornings, lots of questions “why am I doing this?” Or “what am I doing wrong?”

You require the ability to self reflect and change your focus and ideas if needed, there won’t be a big meeting about it to share those ideas…sometimes it’s just you.

You don’t have a “shift” so you need to motivate yourself to show up each and every day. While others discourage you, you have to believe you are worthy of chasing your dream, because it won’t chase you back.

That’s it right there. We are dream builders. The seed planted in our spirit that we can’t shake.

After 2020 we were taught as dream builders that we would have to choose to keep building even with circumstances beyond our control and also can you rise back up after being torn down? The strength it takes is immense. To build something from the ground up only to have it torn down and then rebuild it again while everyone says your crazy and tells you to just give it up.

But there is this tugging and this pull and this desire that won’t let us. We can’t. We can’t let it go. We can’t go back to the 9-5, the false security it offers, the tiresome hours you give your life to…while your dream sleeps in the background waiting for you to come back and pour your soul back into it again.

I understand. It’s not for everyone, not everyone wants it and thats fine, but for me, I’ll keep fighting. I’ll keep pressing. I’ll rise up again and again. I’ll remind myself I’m worthy of it, I’ll realign, I’ll refocus on the core and heart of why I started this years ago and I’ll pour back into my dream.
