About 10 years ago, I rescued a little kitten that I named Smokey. He spent a little time with me before moving into to a guy called Peter J Cohen who runs a non-profit called Zen By Cat.
It turned out that Smokey had FIP, normally a disease no cat owner wants to hear.
Through Peter’s efforts and Smokey’s resilience, this remarkable cat became one of the first cats ever to be cured. A truly ground-breaking story.
News came to me today that Smokey has now scampered over the rainbow bridge, but he leaves behind a truly monumental legacy - his survival paved the way for modern FIP treatments.
What truly remarkable cat.
Rock on, Smokey. You were a star.
