Geetha: Friendship and the ability to say no. I am most proud to be an Aunty to my two beautiful nieces. I love traveling to tropical locales, probably because I am an island girl myself. I was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Simi Valley, and have the valley accent to prove it.
TK: When did you incorporate Tina•K products into your skincare routine? What do you feel sets a certain product apart from other skincare brands?
Geetha: I started coming to Tina•K mid 2021. I feel their products are amazing and you see a difference instantly. It also has a lot to do with Brooke (my skin whisperer) who has taught me a lot and walked me through this journey. Also, consistent facials and trying my best with a routine at home. As a woman of color I am always careful going to estheticians who might not know how to deal with my skin’s needs. I had really bad skin most of my life with acne scars and dark marks. In my mid 40s I said there has to be an option for me. I was not going to settle with just having skin issues. Et Voila!!! Also, there's no filters on pictures above!
TK: What visible changes have you noticed in your skin since you’ve started your Tina•K Skin journey?
Geetha: The texture of my skin. It is much softer and smoother. No breakout issues and so no more dark spot issues. Much more even skin tone. And when I choose to wear makeup, it looks seamless.
TK: Which is your “CAN’T live without” Tina•K product?
Geetha: B•Smooth because it can be used all over. I use it on my face, elbows, underarms and bottom. It smooths skin and lightens darker areas, IYKYK. HydratanT•K and RadianT•K are really luxurious and make my skin glow. ExfolianT•K is a great facial scrub, but my trick is to use it as a body scrub in the shower on hot days and on vacation. A Message from Brooke K! 💛
My family and I absolutely love La Quinta Resort and Palm Springs area to vacation! We ventured there for the Fourth of July week this year (not knowing it was going to be record-breaking numbers of the year with a heat wave 🥵)! Despite it being so, so hot, we had an amazing time being lizards and soaking up the sun at the pool!
A few products for my regimen made it manageable and were absolute necessities on this trip. With being in the heat and summer fun for an entire week, not once did I deal with any redness, burns, peeling or hyperpigmentation flare ups. We got back Wednesday and yes, I definitely have a nice tan going on with my body, but my face was completely protected and is very happy! Bring on the heat!
My daily morning regimen before we hit the pool. AKA Your Summer Ready Regimen!
1. Cleanse with YogurT•K or PerfecT•K cleansers (or a pinch of each which I LOVE for a fresh and ready face!) Any cleanser is good, just make sure skin is clean before applying the rest of your regimen before a day in the sun and possible sweating! 🧽
2. Apply Liquid•Plasma on skin by using it with a cotton pad, our Oxy•machine, or by simply pressing it into the skin with hands for all the benefits that Liquid•Plasma brings us! I also applied this onto my body with my hands to get extra protection and hydration on my body.. this was everything! (Niacinimide = LIQUID GOLD ✨).
3. Apply RadianT•K oil onto face, neck, and chest for your intense, heavily active Vitamin C protection and tightening layer - not to mention, it feels so luxurious on the skin! 🍊
4. Apply AntioxidanT•K Sun Shield onto face, neck, and chest *super IMPORTANT part for maximum protection against free radicals! Cant live without this product! Just as important as SPF.. especially in summer. 🌼
5. SPF! I prefer CLINICAL Eclipse 50 SPF (link in bio), but whatever works for your skin best! Definitely recommended at least a 50 when at the pool or exposed to sun for longer periods. 🧴
6. Your favorite sun hat! This was a necessity for this trip while in the extreme heat and at the pool, because the water reflects! 👒
