Let’s talk about some effects of not wearing sunscreen 😳

-Hyperpigmentation is overproduction of melanin due to at least three factors one of them is UV exposure from the sun.

-Sun damage is UV damage to the epidermis and dermis, most common effects are wrinkles, collagen and elastin breakdown, pigmentation and of course cancer.

-Poikiloderma of civatte is a result of chronic sun exposure specifically along the side of the neck which turns reddish brown color

Also if your sunscreen has titanium dioxide or zinc oxide it provides a protective barrier for the skin. These ingredients are Commonly found in ”mineral” sunscreens.

Now poikiloderma is something I’ll post about more in depth it’s not something I usually see being talking about but I’d like to bring more attention to it because it effects people that work outside for most or all of day. Even Exposed children can get significant damage from this too effects can be notice as early as in their 20’s.
