My journey into esthetics was an unexpected one and I share all about my experiences on my blogs, listed below. It’s brought me to where I am now — a daytime Esthiology Instructor and an evening practicing Esthetician. Esthetics is quite literally my life. “Flamingos lose their pink when raising their young because it’s such an intensive process, but eventually they get their pink back, and so will you.”

Today I ran my second race. Within weeks of having my son, I signed up for the Chicago Distance Series. BUT, the week I learned that I was pregnant with him, I was about to sign up for the Run MadTown 10k. Having learned of my pregnancy, I didn’t sign up. Here I am a year later! 🏅

Last night and this morning was no mean feat being a mama to a toddler and baby, while challenging through digestive issues. Nonetheless, I did it! Just like motherhood. Sometimes we don’t know how we do it, but we do. And sometimes we don’t know if we’ll ever get that pink back, but we will. 💖

I dedicate this race to myself and a belated Mothers Day to all the parents out there. It’s crazy that this race incorporates Madison’s city bird, the pink flamingo. Day by day I feel my pink returning. That’s why I chose to run again – for a challenge, to breathe, to be healthy, for my kids, in honor of those impacted by cancer, the list continues. I’m grateful to be here for it all! 🦩

Ever heard of the Wood’s Lamp? It’s pretty cool. It uses UV light to identify skin concerns by color! It’s like an experiment, truly. 👩‍🔬 Imagine how dirty our hands are before properly washing and drying them? The Wood’s Lamp catches it! Here you can see orange — letting me know that my guest has an excess amount of sebum (oil) in this area. Then, I customize a facial to target cleansing and deep exfoliation with products or devices like a clay mask and a steamer!

While focusing on intense hydration and targeting concerns of overexposure to UV rays, I introduced the gua sha to assist with microcirculation. Not only will the gua sha relieve muscle tension and reduce inflammation, it will improve lymphatic drainage for a brighter, sculpted complexion. 💆‍♀️
