The After Harvest Jam yesterday in Havre was lovely and it was great to connect with new and repeat customers! I soooo appreciate the business and the conversations - I got to connect with some super cool peeps! What a sweet crowd and an amazing venue!! Thanks to everyone that came & supported my small business!!

Today held a few hours of catch-up in the garden. It’s the season where I get to dial back on watering but lean into harvesting. I broke down and froze some ripe tomatoes until I have more time to process, but they’ll be waiting when it’s time (and they’ll taste the same).

I’ve also noticed my “bush beans” in bed 7 are likely not bushy…. They seem to behave like pole beans. In this episode of Gardens Gone Wild the beans missed the 3 sisters note and adopted another sister- the sunflower.

The intrusive thoughts told me it would be okay to plant SIX different tomato varieties back in late March…..so here we are with lots of chunky 💃 salsa.
Yesterday I processed 30 cups of tomatoes alone, not to mention the 🌶️ and 🧅 that got the 🔪. My veggie chop wizard saved the day.

This weekend’s highlights include: an heirloom tomato so big it fits in both hands, first-time-ever-grown Okra (planted much too late) & blackberries (three years in the making), & lastly massive cayenne peppers grown from seed.💚💚

So it begins…. Fresh garden goodness!

As Danny stepped into my sanctuary this morning that's filled with 15 raised beds and governed by the garden by the square foot method, she asked, "Do you ever get overwhelmed?" No, but I do step into Narnia for a quick 30 minute stint and return 4 hours later.

It survived my return back into the work force. ❤️❤️ I forgot to add a pic of all the beans that were ready also. Now it’s zoodle time.

End of summer garden haul- made a few jars of cinnamon rhubarb jam and pickled dilly beans. I might add that the garlic basil salt smells amazing in the dehydrator! I threw in a few garden shots as a future reminder of the green wonder after the Fall is in full swing.

Chesnok Red variety for the win! Overall, the bulbs were smaller than they were last year, but I’m sure they’ll taste just as good.
