This tiny composition (almost 1:1 scale on your phone) is made with petals and small pieces of plants and flowers, decontextualized until they almost become abstractions.
Paloma’s work often looks digitally manipulated, but most of it is shot in camera, made entirely by hand.
“At this scale, arranging them felt less like building an image and more like playing with shape, color and texture through light — almost like drawing, but using real organic materials laid flat.
This idea of having no limits with AI is not, for me, the best way to work. You don’t necessarily become more creative just because you have more possibilities. I think you often reach more interesting places when there are restrictions.” —Paloma Rincón, Photographer

“There was some suggestion that this moving image was created using AI. I can assure you, I hate AI almost as much as I hate VAR.
The footage was actually created by locking off the camera and shooting bursts of action at 30 frames per second, resulting in around 210 RAW stills with far greater resolution and latitude than traditional motion. Each still was then graded using photographic techniques and assembled back into a 30fps timeline. The result is a moving image that almost perfectly matches the stills.
Someone suggested this was a lot of work to create something AI could do. But when you make something authentically and practically, it stops feeling like work and starts becoming fun. That’s what being creative is really about — experimenting, pushing ideas, and enjoying the process of making something new.” —Robert Wilson, Photographer

43 presidents, somewhere in Virginia. Captured by
Built for a roadside attraction. Closed after six years. Ordered destroyed.
The man hired to demolish them couldn’t do it — so he moved them instead. Hauling 20-foot concrete presidents down rural Virginia roads to a forgotten field, where they now sit cracked open, stained by rain, and slowly disappearing into the weeds.
Washington with a hole in his head. Jefferson staring through a fractured eye.
Not destroyed. Not exactly saved.
