Do you have memories of visiting grandma and grandpa's house?
What was that like for you?

I remembered there was always a sweet and zesty aroma coming from my grandma's oven, well before stepping over the threshold of their home. Her lemon bundt cakes were my FAVORITE! She came from the generation that always had something ready in case anyone stopped by unannounced, yet was always welcomed warmly. She came from the generation where everyone looked out for eachother, noticed a need, and helped, even when they didn't have much themselves. Along with doing life with her and being connected to her at the hip in the kitchen, the evidence of her life was spoken highly of by many. That aroma represened a haven to those that knew my grandma, whether coming through with a long journey ahead or just stopping by. She was my person.
