HAIR STRAND TESTING!!
New client wanted the blonde I did on my niece. (Last picture) BUT, she has been box dyeing for 2 years. During consultation, I showed her what realistically would be her undertone and showed her different photos of darker blondes. I was more curious of how her hair would lift because of how uneven it was from doing it herself for so long.
I did 6 strand tests from different spots of her head.
And just as I thought, it came out to a red orange (second to last picture). When I sent her strand tests she wasn’t thrilled with the outcome. But with some thought she told me to go ahead and do it. She was ready for a change. So, I came up with a plan of where to start and which developer to use throughout the process.
Let me tell you! I am absolutely thrilled!!! 🤩 It came out exactly how she wanted without damage.

She only wanted 75% of her natural grey covered. So I did sliced lowlights. If I hadn’t taken a before it would have been hard to believe there was change.

Box Black transformation: focusing on making it an even canvas while keeping the hair’s integrity. Final goal will be to get her grey hair blended.
