🍂 From My Table Friday 🍂
Usually when I share a From My Table Friday, it’s something we’ve already made, loved, and officially given the family stamp of approval. 😂
But this week is a little different!
I came across this recipe and immediately thought, Yep. We’re making THAT this weekend. And it looked way too good not to go ahead and share with y’all!
🥔 Loaded Baked Potato Soup in a Cheddar Sourdough Bread Bowl (thank you Emily Adams)!🥓🧀
First things first, run over to Ashlyn Simon Sourdough and request one of her amazing cheddar, bacon & chive sourdough bread bowls (or any other flavor) because I’m pretty sure that takes this whole thing to another level!
For the Loaded Baked Potato Soup:
• 6 gold potatoes (about 2 lbs), peeled & cut
• 8–10 pieces bacon, chopped
• 2 Tbsp butter
• 2 Tbsp reserved bacon grease
• 1 medium yellow onion, diced
• 4 garlic cloves, minced
• ¼ cup organic or fresh milled all-purpose flour
• 2 cups raw milk
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 3 cups organic chicken broth
• Salt & black pepper, to taste
• ½ tsp paprika
• 2 cups freshly shredded cheddar cheese
• Fresh chives for garnish
To make it: Cook the chopped bacon in a large pot until crispy, then remove it and set aside, reserving about 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease.
Add the butter and reserved bacon grease to the pot, then sauté the diced onion until softened. Add the garlic and cook just until fragrant.
Sprinkle in the flour and stir for about a minute to create your roux. Slowly whisk in the chicken broth, milk and heavy cream until smooth.
Add the potatoes, paprika, salt and pepper. Bring everything to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the potatoes are fork-tender, stirring occasionally.
Once tender, lightly mash some of the potatoes right in the pot while leaving plenty of chunks, this helps make the soup extra thick and creamy. Stir in the freshly shredded cheddar over low heat until melted and smooth. Loaded potato soups commonly use this partial-mashing technique to thicken the soup while keeping that hearty potato texture.
Then stir some of that crispy bacon back in and save the rest for the top!
Now comes the best part: hollow out that cheddar, bacon & chive sourdough bread bowl, ladle in that creamy soup, and finish it with extra cheddar, crispy bacon and fresh chives. 🤤
I’ll report back after we make it this weekend, but I have a feeling this one might earn a permanent spot in our fall recipe rotation!
Because sometimes From My Table Friday starts with a tried-and-true family favorite… and sometimes it starts with something that looks so good you just HAVE to try it. ❤️
🌿 Happy Friday from our table to yours!

🌿 Wildflower Way Wednesday 🌿
Wellness doesn’t have to be perfect.
I think sometimes we make “living a healthier lifestyle” so complicated that it becomes overwhelming before we even begin.
You start reading about ingredients. Then food. Then cleaning products. Then skincare. Then cookware. Then supplements. And suddenly you’re standing in your house thinking, Well…apparently I need to replace everything I own. 😂
You don’t.
Maybe your wellness journey starts with changing your household cleaner.
Then your hand soap.
Maybe next month you find a laundry detergent you feel better about.
Maybe you start reading labels at the grocery store a little more closely or adding more whole foods to your meals.
One little change at a time.
Research. Learn. Decide what makes sense for you and your family. And slowly, those little decisions begin to build a lifestyle.
And I think we also need to talk about the harder side of wellness.
We can eat well. Exercise. Reduce unnecessary exposures. Prioritize sleep. Manage stress. Take supplements. Do all the “right” things…
…and none of that gives us a guarantee that we will never get sick.
People who live incredibly healthy lives can still develop cancer, heart disease and other illnesses. Wellness isn’t a promise that nothing bad will ever happen.
But that doesn’t make caring for ourselves pointless.
For me, it’s about doing what I reasonably can to support my body and hopefully give myself the opportunity for not just longevity but healthy longevity.
And then comes the other side of it:
We still have to LIVE.
If it’s a beautiful summer night and my family wants to go to a baseball game, I’m going.
And I might have the hot dog.
I might have the b**r.
And I might get ice cream with the kids afterward. ❤️
I’m not going to spend the entire night worrying about every ingredient and miss the laughter, conversation and memories happening right in front of me.
Because I don’t want my pursuit of wellness to become so consuming that I forget to enjoy the very life I’m trying so hard to protect.
Wellness isn’t perfection.
It’s learning.
It’s making intentional choices.
It’s changing what you can.
It’s giving yourself grace when you don’t.
And it’s remembering that the little things matter.
One choice at a time.
One swap at a time.
One day at a time.
That’s how a wellness lifestyle is built. 🌻🌿
Not through fear. Not through perfection. Through balance.

🔥 HOT, HOT, HOT!!! RESTOCKED AT OLD TOWN TIQUES MALL! 🔥
You all have been keeping these favorites moving, so another restock was officially required! 🌿🤍
✨ Elderberry Syrup
✨ Tender Root Cough Syrup
Both are freshly restocked and ready for you at Old Town Tiques Mall!
🌿 A quick little shop update: Due to a temporary air-conditioning issue, we’ve pulled our butters and colloidal silver from the shelves for now. With the West Texas heat, we want to protect the quality of our products, excessive heat can change the consistency of our butters, so we’d rather temporarily pull them than have them sitting in temperatures that aren’t ideal.
But don’t worry! 🤍 As soon as the A/C is fixed OR these temperatures cool down I whichever comes first, we’ll get those favorites restocked!
As always, if you’re looking for something you don’t see at Old Town Tiques, reach out to us directly! We’ll be happy to help. 🌿

🇺🇸 From My Table Friday | September 11
This Friday, there won’t be a recipe From My Table.
Instead, today we’re remembering.
Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, our country experienced a day that changed us forever. 2,977 innocent lives were lost. Thousands of families had an empty seat at their table that evening and countless lives were forever changed.
For those of us who remember that day, we also remember what happened in the days that followed.
We held our families a little tighter.
We checked on our neighbors.
We prayed together.
We showed up for one another.
And for a time, the things that divided us didn’t seem nearly as important as the things that brought us together.
That’s part of the heart behind From My Table Friday.
A table is so much more than a place where we eat. It’s where families gather. Where we tell stories about our day, laugh until our stomachs hurt, work through the hard things, celebrate the good things, pray together, and simply spend time with the people we love.
September 11 reminds me that those ordinary moments aren’t really ordinary at all.
So tonight, maybe we put the phones down a little longer. Sit around the table a little later. Listen to the stories. Laugh together. Say I love you. Give thanks for another evening together.
And as we gather around our own tables, may we remember the thousands of families whose tables were forever changed on September 11, 2001.
We remember the lives lost.
We honor the first responders who ran toward danger.
We remember the families who carried unimaginable loss.
And we remember what it felt like when a hurting nation came together.
May we never forget. 🇺🇸
From my table to yours,

🌿 Wildflower Way Wednesday: What Does Self-Care Look Like for You?
Self-care is one of those things that can so easily get pushed to the bottom of the list.
I know it does for me, especially during the school year. I’m a teacher, I’m running a business, I’m a wife, I’m a mom…and before I know it, I’ve taken care of everyone and everything except myself.
But I’m learning that self-care doesn’t have to be extravagant. Sometimes it’s simply being intentional about making space for the things that help you feel grounded, rested, and more like yourself.
A few of my favorite ways to take care of me:
📖 Reading a good book in the evening. It gives my mind somewhere else to go for a little while and helps me slow down at the end of the day.
🧘♀️ Ending my day with a really good stretching session. There’s something about releasing all that tension I’ve carried around all day that feels so good.
🛁 Setting aside Sunday evenings for my weekly detox bath. It’s become a little ritual I look forward to, a quiet reset before another busy week begins.
And there’s one more that I think we should talk about more…
🤍 Counseling.
Sometimes self-care looks like having a safe place to process the circumstances, emotions, disappointments, changes, and experiences life brings us. I personally value having someone objective to talk with, someone outside of the situation who can help me process what I’m carrying.
I would love to see us normalize that more.
Taking care of yourself isn’t always candles, baths, and quiet mornings. Sometimes it’s doing the deeper work, giving yourself permission to feel what you feel, and making room to process it.
So this week, I want to hear from YOU:
🌿 What does self-care look like in your life?
What is one thing you intentionally do just for yourself?
And if you’ve been putting yourself on the back burner lately, maybe this is your reminder to make a little room for you, too. 🤍
Take care of yourself, you live there, too.

🌿 Meet the Remedy Monday: Chest Rub
Not all chest rubs are created the same and ours starts with something a little extra special: Mullein. 🤎
Mullein has a long history of traditional herbal use for respiratory comfort, which is exactly why we wanted it at the heart of our Chest Rub. Rather than relying solely on strong essential oils, we begin with a mullein-infused base and build from there.
Then we carefully blend our oils so they’re effective without being overwhelmingly strong, creating a soothing, comforting rub that can be massaged onto the chest, back, or bottoms of the feet when your family needs a little extra respiratory support.
🌿 Mullein-infused for an added layer of herbal support
🌿 Comforting during coughs, stuffiness & seasonal crud
🌿 Helps soothe and support easier breathing
🌿 Gentle enough for our littles
🌿 Made without that overpowering “burn-your-nose-off” feeling 😂
That mullein base is really what takes this remedy to the next level for us. Instead of simply putting essential oils into a balm, we’re pairing them with an herb traditionally loved for the respiratory system because at Wildflower Wellness, we believe every ingredient should have a purpose.
A little jar of herbal comfort for those days when the sniffles, coughs & congestion come knocking. 🌼
Simple ingredients. Thoughtful formulation. Herbal support for the whole family.

🍂 FROM MY TABLE FRIDAY 🍂
Fall weather dreaming in this Texas heat! 😂🍁
Since Texas clearly hasn’t gotten the memo that we’re ready for cozy weather, we’re bringing fall to the kitchen with Homemade Tomato Soup + Gourmet Grilled Cheese! 🍅🧀
This is comfort food at its finest and that grilled cheese dipped into this creamy tomato soup?! SO good.
🍅 HOMEMADE TOMATO SOUP
Start with:
• 6 tomatoes, quartered
• 1 red bell pepper
Place on a baking sheet and roast at 425° for about 20 minutes, then broil for about 3 minutes to give everything a little extra roasted goodness. Set aside.
In a pan over medium heat, add:
• 1 white onion, chopped
• Minced garlic-however much your heart tells you! We like a nice amount. 😉
• 1 can tomato paste
• 2 Tbsp freshly chopped basil
• 2 cups chicken broth
• 2 Tbsp brown sugar
• ½ Tbsp salt
• 1 Tbsp dried oregano
• 1 tsp dried basil
• ½ Tbsp black pepper
• ½ tsp white pepper
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• Cayenne pepper, optional if you like a little kick 🌶️
Add your roasted tomatoes and bell pepper, then pour in 2 cups heavy cream and stir until everything is combined.
Next, I use my immersion blender to blend it all together until it’s perfectly smooth and creamy. 🍅🤌🏼
🧀 NOW FOR THE GOURMET GRILLED CHEESE!
I use Ashlyn Simon Sourdough Einkorn Sourdough Loaf, which takes this to another level!
For the outside of the bread, mix:
• 1 stick softened salted butter
• ¾ tsp garlic powder
• ¼ cup of your favorite shredded cheese
Mix together and spread generously on the outside of each bread slice.
For each sandwich, add:
• 1 slice Colby Jack
• 1 slice provolone
Then make this creamy spread:
• ⅓ cup cream cheese
• 1½ Tbsp mayo
• ¼ tsp garlic powder
• ⅛ tsp black pepper
• ½ tsp Italian seasoning
• ¼ tsp red pepper flakes, optional
Mix together and spread between your layers of cheese.
Add your sandwich to a buttered pan and cook until the bread is golden and crispy and that cheese is perfectly melted. 🧀🔥
Then grab yourself a big bowl of tomato soup, slice that grilled cheese, and DIP AWAY!
Because even if Texas says it’s still summer… our kitchen says FALL. 🍂😂
Happy From My Table Friday! 🤎
