{Romp In The Swamp} So we did another thing 🤷🏼♀️🤣🤣 the Bright Ideas 💡5k … it was a definite romp in the swamp. Over multiple types of terrain - I seriously thought I was gonna bust my ass several times over roots or slick walking bridges, gravel lol but I didn’t. It was SO much fun and a nice scenic romp through … I even bested my (non official) PR. I definitely think I’ll do a few more 5ks and this year… maybe even run one before the end of the year. That’s the goal at least!

{TLDR; What Had Happened Was} the won this time and I ain’t entirely mad about it. You can read the whole story in the slides - my caption was too long 🤣🤷🏼♀️

{Yesterday} was the 46th running of the and the second time I’ve attempted it - the mans and I finished in just under 2 hours which was the time we were aiming for so we were pleasantly surprised! Those Nutter Butters made it all 6.2 miles with me and though they were not a victory bagel (like 2015) they were the BEST fu***ng Nutter Butters ever 🤣😉 We went to for post 10k noms )and because Rebel is just awesome 🤷🏼♀️ We went back this AM for Brunch with Queso. If you’re ever in Charleston SC, do yourself a flavor and go. I’ve got a 5k lined up at the end of the month and 2.0 starts tomorrow 😳

{2022} was not a bad year over all. Points of it were rough (still recovering from COVID in the beginning of it and Mom’s cancer returning here at the end) but I definitely had some highlights.
1. Continued toward my Bachelors degree.
2. Started weight loss medication in July and that combined with diet and exercise, I lost right about 50lbs overall from the beginning of the year to now.
3. From September to October completed
4. Found out in September that I actually completed my Associates Degree with in June of 2021. I now have a diploma - and graduated with honors.
5. Since I earned a degree I was able to apply for a new position in my office. I started December 2nd!
So overall it was a big year. And that doesn’t even include that ™️ started 7th grade, turned 12 years old, AND is growing up so very fast. Or that Mom was in the hospital for nearly two weeks during Christmas - she’s doing better now ❤️ but still has a ways to go. Or that is still putting up with me on the daily 😏❤️🧸 (for a while now 🤣😉😘)
I hope that 2023 is half as good as 2022 has been. I hope that your 2023 is good to you and that you are gentle with yourselves when maybe it feels like it’s all going to hell. Grow through what you go through.
My wish for 2023 is fat loss and b***y gains 😉
Y’all be safe this NYE 🎉

{75 Hard Ended Yesterday}
The time it took:
75 days.
10 weeks and 5 days.
What I lost:
21.6lbs.
20.49 inches lost.
What I gained:
Confidence. Better habits. A routine. An appreciation for my determination. Mental toughness. My love for reading back. Time management skills. Moderation. And less of a tolerance for compromise.
In 75 days I drank at the very least 75 gallons of water, that’s 9600oz. When I absolutely HATE water.
In 75 days I read and completed 3 books. (If you haven’t read Can’t Hurt Me by do it). When I’ve barely read books at all in so many years.
In 75 days I did at least 150, 45 minute workouts. That’s 6750 minutes of exercise. When I was barely exercising at all.
In 75 days I learned that I can and will do hard things and I will make it though them.
In 75 days I walked in a hurricane, twice. I did 2 workouts a day, at least three hours apart and didn’t begin the first one until after 530p most days. I started getting up early so that I could better manage my time.
I also think I lost my love of alcohol. I still enjoy having a drink now and then (I am definitely finally having a cheat day today!!) but I don’t feel the need to go wild with it and go back to where I was.
I like the new me. I like the me that doesn’t mind working out. I like the me that doesn’t miss alcohol. I like the me that can fit Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups in my life and not be compelled to eat an entire bag. I like CateyV38.8
In less than a month I’ll be 39.
In February I’m going to do 75 Hard again.
In April I’m going to do the Cooper River Bridge Run. I’ll probably walk it. Or most of it. But I’m going to do it.
And CateyV39 will be better. And so will CateyV40.
Cause the most important thing I’ve learned is the only person I have to be better than is yesterday’s Catey.

{I Have Definitely} lately! It’s been a busy busy day. My greatest “a-cheese-ment” was having the energy to tackle everything I’ve had to tackle the last couple of days between house/pet sitting for a friend, my own sick kiddo, taking final exams for classes, applying for a new position at work, I’ve been going nonstop so finding these at was perfect timing - cause I was getting snackish. helps me get in my protein on the daily and who doesn’t love protein!?!

{Back To Ask For Recommendations} cause this increased mileage is making my paws hurt!!
So if you’ve seen my stories - which is where I’ve been hanging out - I’m doing and today marks halfway 🙌🏻🙌🏻
During the last 37 days I have learned a lot about myself - including the fact that I habitually buy shoes that are about a 1/2 size too small. And my feet are FURIOUS.
I think I’m going to stick with just a larger size but I still want opinions on shoes, moisture wicking socks, sweaty feet probs, and whatever words of wisdom y’all wanna impart.
The end of October I’m doing a 5k but by the time I do 75 Hard again (possibly Feb ‘23), I’d like to be at least on the way to running/jogging.
So gimme whatcha got!

{Six Months To Go} and I can’t believe it! How is this year already half over?!
Anyway, got my June ready to go and the May goals I achieved checked off [SWIPE] … I actually lost 7lbs in the month of May which was huge since I’ve been struggling to lose anything since the middle of February!
My June & May goals look a similar but I am working on building consistency- and while you can’t tell it from my posting 🤣🤷🏼♀️ I AM more in other areas.
Like which I think has helped out a lot. I’ve had to change the way I exercise a bit so that I’m not over exercising and causing too much inflammation.
I finally saw the doctor and she’s all for my plan to be and gave me some things to think over. I’ve got some blood work to do cause she wants to check my thyroid before we make any big decisions but I’m hopeful and making tweaks when and where I can.
Definitely going to keep up my and see where that goes.
And trying to has been interesting. I actually had more money than month left in my bank account this time which was nice. But I have cut out ALOT.
Got a lot to get done in the next 6 months to year!

{A Muy Caliente} workout on this field trip with ™️ and his 6th grade class. We wandered and saw all the things!
Last time I was here he was 1.5 so it was fun to go back finally.
It was a nice little outdoor adventure for a mama bear and a cub that prefer the indoors 🤣🤷🏼♀️😉
