Bridal makeup trial run on the stunning

I charge $400 for bridal makeup, and that does include the trial run (all of my prices are listed on my website so any bride can decide if I’m within budget before they even inquire🙂). I like to schedule the trial run about a month out from the wedding, and I block off 2 hours for these appointments. This is the time where I take a deep dive into inspiration pictures, skin prep, and the bride’s expectations. I then I get approval from the bride after each step of the makeup application to ensure we’re both happy with the end result. By the end of the trial, I already have an idea of the tweaks I’ll make for wedding day.

What’s next?
Following the trial run, I’ll always advise my brides to take pictures throughout the day, look at their makeup in different lighting, and see how it wears after hours of the initial application. Fine lines, skin texture, and pores are NORMAL so makeup isn’t going to magically erase those things; however, there shouldn’t be excessive creasing, separation, or extreme oiliness. These are the common things that I tell my brides to take note of. I then encourage my brides to report back by the end of the night or the next day and let me know alllll the things. Anything the bride notices will actually help me to make the necessary changes on the day of. Ladies, this is yalls big day- please don’t be afraid to tell your MUA what you want to change!!

The feedback from this trial run:
We both weren’t in love with the lashes. Although she has beautiful, big eyes, she felt the lashes were too heavy- completely agree! Also, the tight line transferred to her inner corner throughout the day. I do provide all my brides with a touch up kit, but these are fixes that can easily be made on the wedding day!

What all do you expect out of your trial run?

Up close and personal for one of my favorite glams to date- Smokey and champagne shimmers will forever be my favorite for bright blue eyes!
