After being involved in a serious accident Ms. Evans was left with a series of broken bones including a broken left hip, shattered knee, and a compound femur fracture to the left side of her body. After having surgery, Ms. Evans started PT in May 2022 and was non-weight bearing until the following month in June.

Since then, she has been coming to FastTrack almost every day working on her lower left extremity. In the images shared by her, we can visibly see her improvement over 7 months in the flexion of her knee and leg.

Ms. Evans shared that, “Mindset is everything and will take you further than anything else!” She emphasized that recovery and rehabilitation is a slow process and doesn’t stop when you leave the facility, it has to be implemented in all parts of your life!

1. Stretching: doing a bit of stretching right before or after your workout can help prepare and relieve your body of the stress it will/has endured.

3. Applying heat or cold packs: cold therapy emphasizes reducing inflammation and swelling whereas heat therapy provides temporary relief and encourages blood flow

4. Lighter exercise: a low-intensity workout/walking session can help activate your muscles, but make sure to not overdo it.

5. Rest and recover: If you are feeling really tender, the best option may just be to let your body relax and take some time to rally back!
