The People's Pantry

and Biking For Purpose in Muskegon are helping our community.

Let's help them keep folks warm inside and out with full bellies and outside gear.

If you would like to help here are some ways:

Biking for Purpose is a small group of bikers in my neighborhood that collect items in need make sandwiches and get them to local pantry's and folks in need. They get together every Tuesday at 6PM art Unruly Brewery to make PB&Js to deliver. You can join them on Tuesday nights or if you would like to donate needed supplies I will collect them in the salon and get them to the right people.

Sliced Bread
Peanut Butter (other nut butters)
Jelly
Baggies for Sammies
Chips
Protein Snacks
Nitrile Gloves (for Sammie Makers)
Winter Outdoor gear
Plus size winter coats
Plus size sweatshirts
Gloves
Wool Socks
Backpacks
Personal Hygiene Supplies
Hand & Feet Warmers

You can bring any and all items to me at my salon in MySpace Office building, My house or you can find the pantry drop off sites listed in both Biking For Purpose and The People's Pantry's page by clicking the pictures. I know there are folks making hot soups and Chili as well. If are interested in making a hot batch, contact either of groups. You can always bring items with you to your appointment or message me for times I'll be here for drop offs or you can send money and I will pick up needed supplies or just donate the funds directly to one of the groups.

We can help each other and our communities, many hands make light work. When the big picture feels hopeless, I find reeling it in and helping where I can make a difference for my mental health. If you are privileged enough to buy an extra loaf of bread or other supplies while shopping, please do. I hope this sparks some inspiration and you are all taking care of yourselves as well.

Season's Greetings!

I hope you are staying cozy and finding the beauty in the current dark and cold season. Personally, I find this time of year very magical. It makes me appreciate the sunny days more! I enjoy warm drinks, slow days with lots of reading and naps, the sparkly fresh snow and the blanket of silence it brings and the twinkling lights throughout the town. It also gives us the opportunity to reset, recharge and reflect. I wish for you to find the time to pause and find the small glimmers during the next couple months.

A new season also deserves a moment to treat yourself. Book your next haircut, color and/or mani in just a few clicks but be sure to pay attention when booking. There have been a few small changes to my booking system and categories in hopes to simplify online booking. As always, you can contact me anytime if you need assistance or have any questions on what you should book.

I also have a few spaces set aside sooooo message me if you don't see a time that works for you and I miiiight be able to help you out.

My books are full!

Out of Salon 8/18 - 9/8

I officially have zero openings available until September 9th. It's a really good feeling to be needed, but also a little stressful because there is only one of me and few hours in a week.

Please still reach out and/or add yourself to the waitlist for openings that may become available. Full books doesn't always mean no availability, sometimes people reschedule and when you are on the waitlist you are guaranteed to be the first to know. I won't be replying any messages about Beauty Box stuff from 8/18 - 9/8.
Don't wait to book your September appointments if you can, I have a feeling some will be in panic mode when I return to the salon and it will be packed up again for back to school and people just missing me (wink, wink).

Joan is taking a dream trip to Scotland and will be out of the salon from August 18 to September 5th.

Honey will be staying at her home in the studio thanks to her auntie, Jordann coming to feed and love on her while her "employee" is out of office. She normally comes to my house, but she is happier and more secure feeling in her space.

Ben and I have been preparing for this adventure around Scotland since December. We are excited to be fortunate enough to take such a grand adventure! He and I always planned on traveling the world, but life has had other dumb plans the past 10 years. We decided to go to Scotland as our first international trip after I spent 8 months out of last year being obsessed with learning everything Scottish while reading the Outlander Series (Thanks Erin Johnson). I fell in love with the people, their land and loved learning their history. We will be celebrating 20 years together and Ben's 50th birthday!

I really want to make sure I can accommodate you with your hair and nails this summer, so I have opened a couple Saturdays and some extended hours. Please plan ahead and get your time locked in as soon as you can because there will be no time for "squeezing" anybody in.

I am so grateful to every single one of you that choses to spend time with me in my little private studio. I love it there so much and sharing it with you is and continues to be my favorite. You all teach me so much, and I always look forward to your next visit. Each of you are like a little book. When you're here I get to listen to your stories and have to wait for the next chapter for when you return. So don't leave me hangin'! Schedule your hair cut and/or color and Mani now!!
