I feel like this is a very me-coded look. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of my (almost) all matte, super structured, winged out looks, and this color combo is very well suited for that kind of look IMO 🙂‍↕️ I couldn’t resist adding the glowy blurple shade Weird as my inner corner highlight, and I also played around with that shade on my lips as well. Life got a little busy so I’ve been sitting on the closeup of this eye look longer than I intended, oopsies! This was my first look using the Multichromatica x Fantasy Cosmetica Cosmic Cove palette, and I’ll be working on another one this weekend :D This color story gives me soooo many ideas - but for now I’m thinking I’ll do 4 looks back to back with it 🙂‍↕️

For my first foray into the Multichromatica x Fantasy Cosmetica Cosmic Cove palette, I wanted to do something especially colorful with lots of contrasting shades, and I think the goal was achieved 🙂‍↕️ I used Ether, Siren, and Ooze to create a very cool toned, aquatic gradient in my crease, and the warmer leaning shades Magma and Fungi on my lid and inner corner, respectively. I was quite happy with the end result, and I’m pleased to report I got quite a few compliments on this look at work 👉👈 which is just as much a testament to Miles’ creative vision as it is to my personal makeup skills tbh. He and Jordan created an incredible combination of colors and finishes with this palette, and I’m already having a blast with it!!

Here are my swatches of the x Cosmic Cove palette* and several of the nail polishes from the collection! The nail polishes are swatched in the following order:

🍄 Slide 2 - Fungi*
✨ Slide 3 - Lazurite*
🪼 Slide 4 - Weird*

I did 2 coats of Fungi and Lazurite, and 3 coats of Weird. All three shades are gorgeous (and very unique to my personal collection) but I decided to take Fungi for a spin first… I just can’t resist a yummy teal 🙂‍↔️ All three shades dried quite quickly, which I am always happy about as someone who immediately forgets they painted their nails and is prone to dinging and smudging them 🤪 But I’m happy to report that I went to bed shortly after putting on two coats of Fungi (that’s a wild phrase lol) and I woke up to smudge free nails 🙂‍↕️

One more day til this collection goes live, I can’t wait for everyone to experience the ✨Cosmic Cove✨for themselves!!!

I’M SO EXCITED FOR THIS COLLECTION!!! I’ve been patiently but eagerly awaiting a x collab for years now - it just makes so much sense 🙂‍↕️🤌 I’m also a long time admirer of Miles’ artistry, and it’s always so fun to see what color stories get curated by fellow
creatives/makeup enthusiasts, so seeing this collection brought a huge smile to my face. My head is already buzzing with ideas of all the looks I could do with this fun, very Miles-coded color story!! Well done and congratulations!

On the subject of collaboration, I have to shout out my friend from work who taught me a LOT about photography while shooting this collection. This is such a special launch (and special to me personally as my first Fantasy Cosmetica PR 🥹) so I really wanted to up my photography game and give it extra love and care. My job has a photo studio and when I asked my friend for photography tips, he went above and beyond and offered up the fancy equipment at his
disposal. So, while I take full credit for the set design (sand and seashells included) and the creative vision, massive credit goes to him as well for sharing his expertise and resources to help me achieve said vision. (He’s not on socials, sadly, but he still deserves his flowers 💐 )

Here are the closeups of the 3 looks I’ve done with the .official x .in.japan Blightmoon palette! If you missed the full face pics of each look, I shared them yesterday and I touched on the performance of the mattes in the palette in the caption, so be sure to check out that post if you haven’t already!

Today I’m going to talk about the shimmers. I’ve got lots to say, so this will likely be continued in the comments lol. I feel like the star of the show when you look at the Blightmoon palette is Ruby Flame: the vivid, true red shimmer shade that’s all over my lid in the third picture. It definitely has the same impact on the lid as it does in the pan, but it was pretty finnicky for me application wise 🫣 It almost behaves like a pressed glitter (although it’s soft and silky to the touch, not gritty.) But what I mean by that is, it seems to work best tapped on rather than swiped, otherwise it kinda picks up patches of itself and leaves bald spots, if that makes sense. It also creased on me before I was even done with the look/the rest of my makeup. It’s not the worst creasing I’ve ever experienced in my life, but it WAS the fastest, and definitely noticeable 😵‍💫 I was worried the creasing would get worse throughout the day, but it pretty much peaked early on and then plateaued, so I was glad for that at least

I’ve been a busy bee working on several looks with this palette, but I fear I haven’t been quick enough posting them for the timeline I’m operating on and some secret things in the works 👀 So! I’m trying something new and sharing all 3 looks/1 palette in the same post today. I would loooove to know which look is your favorite hehe ☺️ While the slides in this post follow the sequential order in which I made each look, it also happens to correlate to how I’d rank them. The first look is my favorite, the middle look is my second favorite (pretty, but a little simple in terms of technique) and the third one is really kooky and the final result doesn’t quite match what I envisioned in my head 🥴

I’ll be sharing the eye closeups of all three looks, and more thoughts on the palette tomorrow, but for now my broad overall review is that this palette is pretty nice! The mattes are slightly dry instead of buttery, some of them harder pressed than others, but I found all of them to be nicely workable and buildable. I definitely recommend working from light to dark with them, that strategy served me well. I’ll talk shimmers in my next post, and key products for each look will be pinned in the comments here 🙂‍↕️👇

I really enjoy how closely the artwork mirrors the color story inside the palette. In general, it’s a really refreshing combination of colors - very different from anything else in my collection!
