Road to 2025 Disney Marathon/ AFSP Fundraising
I will be running the 2025 Disney Marathon in support of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

I remember when it only took me 8:30 to run a mile :( right now I'd settle for 12:00 lol

TLDR: Please GIVE ME A KICK IN THE REAR if you don't see updates! Been busy! Life is only getting busier so I need to keep training and fundraising anyway!
I fell into the same old trap of losing my initial focus and straying to other shinier things. Keeping to a workout plan with twins has also been harder than I'd imagined and New England has been way hotter than I remember it. I have done a lot of great things though! I went to pirate days on Cape Cod for my birthday, my littlest sister's baby shower in New Hampshire, hung out with my best friend Elaine at the New England Aquarium and Salem, celebrated the 4th of July 3 or 4 times lol, walked the entire freedom trail with the babies and Sarah Pacheco, went camping and hiked 6 miles with Sarah and the babies to jump of franconia falls, flew to AZ with Sarah and the babies, took the babies to tombstone, and went back up to NH for a 3rd time to visit Kaitlynn and the bean!
Coming up I have to make the nursery. The babies are crawling and trying to walk and the room I am in gets less safe by the day. The logistics of that are a nightmare I won't get into.
Sometime in the next few weeks Kaitlynn will pop and I should get to pay a visit. We want to try and squeeze in another short camping trip to the Berkshires before me and the kids go back to school. Yes, I WILL BE GOING TO SCHOOL this fall! My brother Ben will be swinging through town and we will be heading to NH to meet the baby, seeing Less Miserables, seeing frank turner, and attending St Anthony's feast.
So if you made it this far you see that I am all over the place. With everything going on I really need to stick with the training and the fundraising. Between me and Alana we are a little under 1/3 of the way to our goals. If anyone has any ideas, or would like a QR code to hang for us somewhere it would be greatly appreciated. After I have made my goal I will start sharing stories of the people we have lost, but doing it before that would feel like taking advantage.

It's been a while! It's been a very busy month with a lot of non-running activity. Time to get back on the bandwagon starting with this 2 mile jog and a new gym membership.

I've done a few 3k's but no new long runs. This one was on track to be my best pace yet, until I came face to fluffy face with a racoon and ran away screaming. I walked 2 laps before I had the courage to resume my jog. Best part was that Alana York was making a voice note half a track away at the time and caught it

I meant to post this yesterday. Finished out my first Mother's Day with a 5 mile midnight jog! It was my first 5mi jog since the Disney Half Marathon in January 2023. It felt great and the occasional cool sprinkle was refreshing. I definately could have done 6mi if I hadn't been tricked into doing a cooldown lol.
My goals right now are to increase my distance to a half (13.1 miles)and get down to a 12:30min/mile pace.
I need to start implementing interval and strength training.
Our first fundraising event for the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention will be Memorial Day weekend. Stand-by for details!

Sometimes training just looks like a late night stroll around the track with good friends.

Alana York was kind enough to watch the babies while i took a cloudy day jog. Im still a few pounds lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight, but my body feels so heavy. I need to do a distance jog soon to see what im capable of. Until then 5ks feel tough enough. Well, only improved 12 seconds per mile on my pace. I felt better though.

Boston. Good marathon training, poor decision for motion sickness.

Completed my first training 5k! It was a beautiful day. Hit the rail trail with JayJay Mudridge and my sister Alana York 's family. The plan was to only do 2 miles, but since we turned around at 1.5 miles I thought I'd give it a try. Hammy's are a bit sore, but nothing an epsom salt bath shouldn't fix. ♡
